Lundqvist/Montoya

Roberto Luongo. What the heck was Milbury thinking trading Luongo several years ago? This guy is darn good. He might be the best goaltender in the NHL right now. Dipietro is okay, but I don't think he will be anything special.

The new rules are garbage. I hate em all. I think the new NHL is worse than the old NHL. No offense. Why should players get liberties to go attack the goaltender and such and not get penalized for it? Martin Brodeur has been treated like a bounty this season where every team has been running into him and not being paid the price. I miss the neutral zone trap and clutching n grabbing. You know what's the problem with the league. Lack of star players. I swear you can come up with only 10 NHL Stars and that's it. The NFL, NBA, and MLB, have way more than that. These new rules are just not helping IMO. What the NHL needs is more talent. You have to hope these young kids will come through in the next few years.

Lundqvist-Weekes as far as Ranger goalies go...

Lundqvist is a stud and should definitely be the #1 goalie:thumbsup:

Agreed. Lundqvist is amazing.

DiPietro over Snow; from watching Rick last night he showed me some good stuff. 2 goals allowed on +30 shots and nice saves in the shootout; and one goal was a deflection off of his own teammate.

Best Rule Change- Moving the Bluelines; no doubt about it

The game is so much more exciting when the puck is in the zone and it isn't being cleared every 2 seconds. There are more scoring chances and more exciting PP's.

BTW, Timberwolf, I totally disagree with you. Hockey is SOOO exciting this year, but it may be just because the Rangers are actually competitive thus far. I think the game is great, the pace is face and there's more scoring chances with the bigger zones, offside tagups, and 2 line passes. I think the fans love it, especially by watches last night's Rangers-Isles game. What a game!

I would say that the Rangers should start Lundqvist and have Weekes back him up. I think it's better right now for Montoya to get some consistant playing time in Hartford. (should be better for his development, much like Marc-Andre Fleury in PIttsburgh).

I know DiPietro is struggling but I think he's the real deal and I'd want to see him between the pipes if I were an Islanders fan.

The Shootout is clearly the best rule change, ties were the worst thing ever. They killed the game. When I go to a hockey game I either want to leave being glad my team won or pissed because they lost. There's no emotion with ties.
