I think I'd take Pujols in just about any situation.. I would have also said Pujols, even if he didnt come through the other night...

yeah! ortiz!!!!111 :D
David Ortiz. Though, Pujols has been clutch, but Ortiz has done it plenty of times on the big stage. I'm sure Pujols will out pass him as the best clutch player in the future, but currently, it's still the big man Ortiz.
Not a cheap shot, but when has Alex Rodriguez been clutch ever?

The Pest, David Eckstein :) Pujols doesn't get that chance the other nite unless the Pest gets on base. I saw it way too much during the Padre series and basically throughout the last few years of his career.
He understands the game situations better than most players.
Also Lance Berkman is another player that is just phenominal in those critical situations.

David Ortiz

I agree with you to an extent yagsy...if we were down by more than a run i'd want eckstein first, because he just finds ways to get on base. but you need someone to drive him in as well. that's when ortiz comes in :D

manny is an amazing baseball player, but the past two years no one has compared to Ortiz in being clutch, and coming up with the huge hit at the right time.

It's hard to choose anyone above Pujols, but I'd want Ortiz.
