Try and get back from the commercial break a little quicker so we can see more than the tailend of Ensberg's homerun:nono1:

What, you want Fox to act like professionals? Shame on YOU James. :nono:
Fox has no clue on how to telecast a baseball game! Between the stupid in game interviews to the Scooter cartoon, to the injury charts to the inane banter between Buck & McCarver :barf:
Fox should be banned from doing any baseball coverage. YES, THAT IS HOW I REALLY FEEL!

Yagsy, I agree 100%. Those stupid animations are so generic. I would rather look at shots of hot chicks in the crowd that Fox is so infamous for. :nono1:
Also, I wish they would quit trying to make every damn call so controversial. FOX has founded its success on controversial and risque programs, but lets not let that stuff bleed into baseball. Yeah, there have been some bad calls (on both sides as evident by the pick-off of Iguchi in Game 2 - he sure looked safe to me) but they are treating every call that goes the Sox way as a genuine conspiracy. BAH!
While they are at it - SEND JOE *UCK PACKING! :eviltongu
I think everybody think Fox and it's announcer suck. :whistle
Obviously, Fox does not know how to telecast a baseball. It's quite clear when they allowed McCarver and Buck to be their announcers. Who ever came up with this ''Scooter'' should be slapped across the face. Fox has just become even more retarded over the year. I can't wait until the World Series is back on NBC or CBS.
Since we don't like Fox, what channel would be good for the playoff and World Series? NBC, CBS or ESPN?

I think Fox has the rights thru 2006.. So maybe we will catch a break in 2007..

Let me add to the list Fox's habit of planting its TV show stars in prime seats and then giving them camera time so Buck and McCarver can plug their shows. Because, after all, I really want to know about Fox's network lineup during the ball game.

That was disgraceful! They're awful and I agree...they should not be allowed to do baseball.
I hate FOX, and am sending an e-mail off to them as soon as I finish this. I know it probably won't do any good, but that incident last night was disgusting. Maybe if they hear from enough people, they'll figure out that their coverage has to........ at the very least....... improve in some ways..... such as missing important moments of the freakin' game! :banghead
Send an e-mail to FOX!!!! They've got to start hearing from the people who hate what they're doing! I'm sure they're hearing from people, but the more, the better!

I will be very disappointed if the World Series ever ends up on ESPN. As someone who never had cable until I went to college, and even at some points since then over the past 10 years, I think that would be the worst mistake ever.
What I think peopl efail to realize, though is that if NBC or CBS gains the broadcast rights to MLB, we will still have to put up with the same announcers. They will simply switch networks.

yes BSB I hate their strategically placed network celebrities as well. Let some real fans (or at least people that are willing to pay to be there) sit in those seats.

I dont know if that would happen... I know it happens in football but NBC has always had their own announcers and some pretty good ones at that.. Buck is affiliated with Fox St. Louis so I doubt he could move or would move...
Mc Carver may be able to do so...

I used to love McCarver for years, but the last two years, he has clearly slipped in which he adds zero insights and he is not interesting. I think his time has come and passed. Joe Buck has been brutal to listen. He was great when FOX had baseball in their first year, but he has regressed. I know I ripped the both of them last year here. I lost a lot of respect for Buck for his tirade on Randy Moss in the playoff game last year.
I personally think Thom Brennaman should be the #1 PBP guy.
I don't think the production or the coverage is that bad. My problem is more with the announcers more than anything.
Eva: In the 80s, NBC did a great job covering baseball, but when NBC got the baseball TV rights back, it was horrible especially with Baseball Night in America. I think CBS would be the best network for baseball. Again, I don't think FOX is that bad. It's just that the announcers are horrible. Give me Thom Brennaman and Bob Brenly and I am a happy camper.
BG: I think McCarver would be gone. Most networks are going to want a fresh voice. McCarver is not what he used to be. I think you would find someone different.

What? You are not excited about those WebMD charts about how a player's groin and all. :ugh:

Nah, I want it on another network all together. FOX sucks at just about everything they do, IMO. Like I said before, they try real hard to be as close to controversial as possible. I dont even like the commercial breaks on FOX. My 7yo daughter loves watching baseball and football with me, but I feel like I have to hide her eyes when FOX starts pimping one of thier shows in a commercial or showing some commercial that is graphic or too sexual for little eyes.
In general, I think TV sucks these days. What happened to clean cut family entertainment -- I guess that would have to be another thread though.

Scooter the Talking Baseball Tries to Explain How Tim McCarver Still Has a Job
Scooter – FOX’s animated, talking baseball who appears during every game the network broadcasts to explain in elementary, kid-friendly language how various pitches swoop, dip and curve – instead tried to explain during last night’s Astros-White Sox telecast how FOX color commentator Tim McCarver has yet to be fired.
“We get tons of e-mails and calls from viewers saying how much Tim McCarver sucks and how he needs to be fired. Or even killed. In fact, far more than people who ask us how certain pitches are thrown,” said FOX Sports CEO David Hill. “So we thought – hey, we have the technology with Scooter all ready to go, why not have him try to explain Tim McCarver’s continued employment to our viewers?”
During the bottom of the seventh inning last night, after a series of particularly moronic statements from McCarver, FOX cut to a prepackaged Scooter segment called “How Tim McCarver Still Has a Job.”
Scooter began by welcoming viewers in his high-pitched voice: “Hello fans. This is Scooter. Tonight I’m here to explain to you how Tim McCarver still hasn’t been fired after all these years of horrendous and somehow increasingly terrible color commentary on this network.”
The animated baseball then stared into the camera for the next 20 seconds, saying nothing and only blinking his huge eyes a few times as a pained look came over its face. Finally, he added: “I don’t have a [bleeping] clue. McCarver’s a [bleeping] idiot.”
“Another great spot from Scooter,” said FOX play-by-play man Joe Buck after the segment. “I honestly don’t know how you have a job still either, Tim. You truly are a moron.”
“You should talk, Joe,” responded McCarver. “People hate you almost as much as me.”
FOX’s Hill said he was happy with the segment.
“Boy, that Scooter sure is a lot of fun,” said Hill. “He’s just one of the many reasons people love watching baseball on FOX. Unfortunately, the cost that goes into producing his spots doesn’t leave us any money to afford to hire a better announcing duo than those dipsh-ts Buck and McCarver.”
