Forgive me, I missed work last week. I was sick as a dog. I think I caught it here from Ray. :D
Time to get this forum back going. 6 days left before Theo hits Free Agency. Without a GM, we can't begin to rebuild this team. I'm not sure this deal gets done. Thoughts?
I think the money issue isnt the road block, its the authority level that Theo wants. He doesnt want to deal with Lucchino anymore, he wants to answer straight to Henry. I believe that Theo will NOT get resigned. He has no obligations to stay in Boston. Dudes young and single. Someone out there will not hesitate to offer everything Theo wants, like the Philly's. So I say, Thank you Theo for 2004. And good luck in the future. :D

I agree. I've thought for a long time that this ownership group was going to pull out all stops to win a World Series then slash payroll and rebuild from scratch. They will go cheap and let Theo go.
Then trade Manny, etc...

Theo is just a pawn of ownership anyway. He does what they tell him to do, as will the next GM. If Theo wants more control, ownership will just get someone else that will do what they say. I don't know if Theo will stay or go, but I don't think it really makes that much of a difference.
I agree with Babs. Basically, the owners run the whole team. Henry and Lucchino micro manages everything. Thats why they hired Francona. Francona is a Yes Man.

Still no news. :gripe:
Looks like Theo is gonna walk. Like Babs would say: Focking Red Sox.
2 different stories today. Globe says hes agree to a 3 yr extension and the Herald says otherwise. So I dont know. Either way, the Pats are hurting. :D

Bob, you sound like a damn Yankee fan. The Pats are in first place, which is freaking amazing considering they have been decimated with injuries. They have won 3 of 4 superbowls. What on earth do you expect?
That said, :wavey2:
If Theo was staying, it would have been done. It pisses me off that it had to go this far. This organization is pissing me off.
I agree with both your points. Theo doesnt deserve this crap. If they really wanted him, they would have resigned in before the season was over. However, it is amazing what the Pats are doing but Im not complaining on what they have done or what they are doing. Im just stating a fact that we are hurting (physically). Watching Pass last night bust 10+ yards on the ground every time he touched the ball, and then, of course, he gets hurt. Im just glad that most of our offense is still in one piece. Im sorry to say, but I believe that the Pats will finally lose one to Indy next week.

This dual newspaper crap is pissing me off too. Get your goddamn stories straight. When a deal is done, report it. Until then, STFU Globe.
Same with the Manny story. They always report on rumors. Report it when you hear it from the mouth of the person your reporting.

The latest report from espn.com is that Theo has resigned with the Red Sox for three more years. That's some good news.
