I hear he was released from the hospital today. Will he play again? What really happened? Was he involved in the death of that other guy?

:help:

Very confusing story.

Hey Jacqui!

The Hamlin story has been a strange and sad one. He was out at a bar in dowtown Seattle with his girlfriend celebrating their victory. He was leaving the bar right around the time of closing, and asked some guy to move. That started an argument where apparently Hamlin was more the aggressor. Words were exchanged for about 20 minutes or so in front of the bar. This was all captured on video taken at the club. At one point Hamlin goes to leave and the guy picks up a small road sign, marker thing and crashes it into Hamlin's head from behind. That was it for him. He suffered a fractured skull, and had issues with a blood clot. He was critical for quite a while. He is doing much better now and released from the hospital. To continue the story though, the guy who hit Hamlin was found dead an hour later. The police still do not have any evidence that Hamlin was involved in any way. Hamlin had no other friends with him at the club, so it's not like one of his entourage went and took care of business. Police are still looking into the death, but found no evidence to support that Hamlin or anyone around him killed the guy. Hamlin himself has no memory of the incident. It is impossible for Hamlin to be the killer as he was passed out bleeding, and then taken to the hospital once he was attacked, and the murder happened after the incident.

As for his playing days, no one seems to know. It seems very unlikely to me that he can play football again, after undergoing so much trauma to his head. Even though the skull will heal, I seriously doubt it will be as strong as before.

It's just a tragic story. Hamlin was an up and comer. He was a leader in that defense even though he has been playing for little over two years.
