I hope this guy would retire right after this season. This year has been an embrassment for him. He clearly has lost it with those INTs and all. It's a sad story IMO. As much as I hate the Packers, I respected Brett's will to win and his attitude to play the game. He still has that, but he is just not very good anymore. Clearly he would not have that many picks in his heyday. I would love to get a good laugh of his struggles, but I don't think it's funny when a guy is washed up. I hope he can finish the season strong and then retire.

his team is a shell of its former self as well. zero receivers, zero running game, no offensive line and you wonder why favre is struggling? If the defense knows you are going to throw because you cant run, it makes it very very easy for a defense to stop you and make you look bad.

True, but this is beyond ridiculous.

He is throwing picks and INTs out there at a ridiculous pace. Even if he had a bad team like that in his heyday, he would not be this bad.

three QB's from NFC north against bengal defense: 1 TD 15 INT's.

That goes to show you how bad the QBs has been in that division.

Ya Farve could be back to his old self if he had a line, Wr and running back. Hell when you got nothing to work with you got to try to make something with nothing. I dont blame Brett for what he did I look at the GM that let half of the line walk and didnt get any WR help for him.

He's thrown for 15 TD and 13 INT. That's not really great, but consider the team around him. I have no clue why you would say he's a shell of his former self. He lost his number 1 WR in Walker during Week 1, then WR after WR started going down one after the other. rockin cover all the point that this team is just plain bad and to say Favre washed up because the Bengals defense destroyed him, is not justified at all.

The Packers and Favre's number would be a lot better if this was an actual football team. Favre not washed up, the Packers as a team is. It's not ridiculous at all to see him throwing a lot of INT. Like rockin said, if the other defense knows you're going to throw, it's not hard to defend. With no talented WR to work with, what is Favre to do? Get sacked a bunch of time since the defense is trash or at least try and throw and throw INT and TD. McNabb would have this horrible numbers if Westbrook and Owens disappear and the Eagles defense was complete trash like the Packers.

It's not that Brett Favre has lost his ability to play, he just has a really young and inexperienced team. Add on all the injuries and the lack of starpower in the WR department, I can see Favre doing this bad. When he does retire, whether this year or not, he'll go down as one of the best QB's that has ever played.

I have not had a chance to see him play yet this season, so I don't know how he has looked. I know he had pretty good stats a few times and not so good of stats other times, and I was wondering if he actually looked worse or if it just seemed like the guys around him...how strong can they be without Walker and Green in the lineup? Those are star players, you can't just lose them, not have anyone to replace them and expect things to go as well.

Anyway, I have always liked Favre quite a bit...I hope he doesn't play well against the Steelers on Sunday however (for purely selfish reasons).

Is he a shell of his fromer self or did the Packers organization completely screw him this year by letting key players leave last year during free agency and not doing anything to even try to replace them????? That coupled with injuries to key players like Javon Walker, Robert Ferguson, Ahman Green and others has left Green Bay a shell of a good football team. This failure of a season falls squarely on the shoulders of the Green Bay Packers organization. Even when their players went down with injuries they did absolutely nothing to even attempt to replace them. The organization has completely quit on Favre this year which is a true shame considering all that #4 has given them over the past deacde and a half. He has played in what seems like 1,000 consecutive games (in fact I cannot recall seeing a different quarterback start for Green Bay in my entire life) and played through a tremendous amount of pain in doing so, out of sheer love of the game and loyalty to the organization. It is disgraceful of the Packers organization not to show any loyalty or consideration to Favre in return.

He looked like crap against the Lions in the opener as well, with 2 Pro Bowl recievers, and his Pro Bowl running back. I'd still take him over half the QB's in the league, but he has clearly lost a step or 2.
