to be all that great. On a 4th and 1 early in the game, I was on my feet and cheering when I feel a tug at my arm and some guy behind me yell at me to sit down.
Several times throughout the game on a big play, I was standing and yelled at to sit down while supporting our defense.
The guy behind me took my towel as I waved it, and told me to "keep that stupid thing out of his face..."
On 4th and ****ing 1 in the 3rd quarter, I was once again grabbed and told to sit down. After telling the guy that I was going to kick his ass if he touched me one more time, I was informed that if I didnt sit down, he was going to go get the police. I told him to **** off, and he went down and complained to a security guard who just shook his head and laughed.
After the game, I had a woman who was sitting behind them come up to me and say "dont worry.. we had your back." Then ha d a guy come up to me in the line in the bathroom and say "how dare you support your team on 4th down. You should be ashamed of yourself..."
On.. not to mention that half the stadium emptied out part way through the 4th quarter. I have never in my entire life heard a stadium that quiet and saw more people sitting on their hands.
Im almost embarrassed.
No wait.... I AM embarrassed.

They sell mostly rolling rock and yuengling there... Had plenty of it outside.. but wasnt going to pay the price of it inside.
I could understand it if my towel had even been close to him, but seeing as I was standing up, and he was sitting down... .well....

I never thought Steeler fans were special. What's with the towels anyway? Something to cry in when you lose? :D
All sports are like this now. Less real fans, more corporate types. Just too expensive.
The old Foxboro stadium was fun. People were drunk, screamed, and had fun. Now, the real folks are priced out. Attending games was funner when the team wasn't good and only true fans showed up.
When did sport stadiums become movie theaters were you're suppose to be quiet? It's a football game, you're suppose to be loud. If you don't like, then get NFL Ticket and watch the game at home. No need to ruin the vibe of the game for the fans that want to express how much they're into the game.
I noticed this junk going on. Some guy called the cops on a dude, because he won't stop saying the ''Yankees suck.''. What's up with that? It's a custom in Boston to chant that when you're at Fenway, even if the Yankees aren't playing, though I find it silly myself, but people are welcome to do it. Not meant to be quiet during a sports game. :duh:
Why are people being so uptight at sports games? It's not just Steelers fans...

It's just different crowds now. If you sit in crappy seats, you can still yell and scream, but in good seats, forget it.

3RS was like watching a game in a local Sports bar. Heinz Field is like watching a game in a country club.
Mostly where the problem lies is the fact that we have had the same 60,000 people attending the games since the 1970s. They are getting old.. and senile... and think that everyone sho uld watch the game in the same manner that they do.

I actually noticed on Opening Night that everyone in our section was 50+. Well, America is getting older.

Another reason that college is better than pro football. At least the student sections.

wow. I always thought Steelers fans were hard core. Hell I was cheering and clapping at home while watching on TV. Still cool that you got to go to the game though. As a life long Steelers fan, I've always wanted to go to Pittsburgh and see a game. Maybe not now that you tell this story however.

It is still like this at Soldier Field. Everyone goes absolutely nuts at the games, no matter where you sit.
