It had to happen. I am glad Andy Reid made that decision.
Personally, he should never play a game for the Eagles anymore. The Eagles are not going to be win it all so they might as well suspend him for the year. His attacks on Donovan McNabb again is uncalled for. McNabb has played hurt all season and I think he has done as best as he could. To say that they would be undefeated with Favre is not right IMO.
I think it's safe to say that lot of teams are going to steer away from T.O. more than ever and rightfully so. Mark Schelerth said it best about how he is a energy-drainer.

Some team will pick him up just because the coach and team will think they can change him. But he wont get the money that he keeps trying to get.

Owens Suspended Indefinitely for Comments
By ROB MAADDI, AP Sports Writer
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051106/ap_on_sp_fo_ne/fbn_eagles_owens_suspended
PHILADELPHIA - Terrell Owens can host an open house, exercise on his front lawn or practice a new touchdown celebration Sunday. He won't be playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. Owens was suspended indefinitely by the Eagles on Saturday, two days after he criticized the organization for not publicly recognizing his 100th career touchdown catch two weeks ago.
The All-Pro wide receiver apologized Friday in a statement and later on his weekly radio show, but the damage already was done.
The Eagles issued a statement that said Owens was suspended "for conduct detrimental to the team." The team added that it will have no further comment.
Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, refused to comment.
It's unlikely Owens will be paid for sitting out this game, though neither the team nor Rosenhaus would discuss the situation. Owens is scheduled to make $3.5 million in base salary this season, so the suspension would cost him more than $200,000 per game if it's without pay.
The collective bargaining agreement states that a player can be suspended for up to four games without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. However, the Eagles could decide to pay Owens to stay home the rest of the season.
In 2003, Tampa Bay declared wideout Keyshawn Johnson inactive for the final six games and sent him home because of differences with coach Jon Gruden. Johnson was paid his full salary.
No matter, it's clear Owens won't be back in Philadelphia next year. He already put his house in Moorestown, N.J., up for sale. The price? A measly $4.4 million.
Owens has been angry with the Eagles since management refused to redo his contract just one season into the seven-year, $48.97 million deal he signed when he came to Philadelphia in March 2004.
Without Owens, the struggling Eagles (4-3) will line up with unproven rookie Reggie Brown at one of the wideout spots for an important game at Washington (4-3) on Sunday night.
This is the second time Owens has been suspended during his controversial 10-year career. In 2000, he was suspended one game by San Francisco coach Steve Mariucci following his infamous touchdown celebrations on the Dallas Cowboys' famed star logo at the center of Texas Stadium.
Owens clashed with management this summer and earned a one-week exile from training camp after a heated dispute with coach Andy Reid, which led to a bizarre workout on his lawn in front of neighbors and reporters.
Owens got in trouble this time after taking shots at the team and quarterback Donovan McNabb in an interview with ESPN.com on Thursday.
Owens was upset there was no in-stadium acknowledgment of his 100th career TD reception in a victory over San Diego on Oct. 23. An announcement was made in the press box.
"That right there just shows you the type of class and integrity that they claim not to be," said Owens, who became the sixth receiver in NFL history to reach the milestone. "They claim to be first class and the best organization. It's an embarrassment. It just shows a lack of class they have. My publicist talked to the head PR guy, and they made an excuse they didn't recognize that was coming up. But that was a blatant lie. Had it been somebody else, they probably would have popped fireworks around the stadium."
Owens also said the Eagles would be undefeated with Green Bay's Brett Favre at quarterback.
"A number of commentators will say he's a warrior, he's played with injuries," Owens said, referring to Favre. "I feel like him being knowledgeable about the quarterback position, I feel like we'd probably be in a better situation."
Owens said on his radio show he merely was agreeing with the opinion of Michael Irvin, the former Dallas wideout and current ESPN broadcaster.
"This is one I really regret," Owens said of the interview, adding that some clips were taken out of context. "I said earlier in the interview that we would have a better record if Donovan wasn't injured."
Owens previously said on his radio show that he'd prefer to play with Indianapolis' Peyton Manning over McNabb or any quarterback. Last year, Owens couldn't stop praising McNabb after joining the Eagles following eight seasons in San Francisco.
But their relationship soured after Owens took a verbal swipe at McNabb's performance in Philadelphia's loss to New England in the Super Bowl. McNabb responded harshly and the two feuded throughout the summer, not speaking to each other for a prolonged period.
McNabb, a five-time Pro Bowl quarterback who has led the Eagles to four consecutive NFC championship games, has played through several injuries this season, including a sports hernia that will require surgery. He has thrown for 2,034 yards, 15 TDs and seven interceptions while going through some tough stretches.
Owens has 47 catches for 763 yards and six TDs this season.

Im not surprised at all, he should be TRADED!
why? its a) past the trading deadline and b) you dont trade megastars during the year. salary cap implications make it impossible.
what they do is keyshawn him. just deactivate him for the rest of the year. and if the salary cap hit isnt going to be bad, just cut him.

I agree, good for the Eagles! As good as the guy is for the team on the field, he's twice as worse for the team off it. Only bad thing about this is now we have to hear the guys on ESPN talk about this CONSTANTLY until he's reinstated.
:doublefin TO :doublefin
Owens and McNabb could have went to playoff this year, maybe not as NFC East Champions, but at least a Wild Card. With Owens out, the Eagles really got nobody else that McNabb can throw to and the Eagles being a passing team will be weak on the receiving end by taking Owens out of the game. Without Owens, I don't see this team being a playoff team. More than likely, once the Eagles are completely out of it, McNabb will be out for the rest of the season.
Not saying I disagree with the choice made by Eagles management. It's about time somebody put Owens in his place. But, in turn, you're hurting your team during a playoff race, so I'm not sure what to think.

He wont shut up. He wanted traded to the ravens. Got it and before he even played a game he cryed he wanted traded. Got traded to the Eagles. Signed the contract he wanted. Got a long term deal and the money he wanted. One year later he is crying again. 3 teams three heart aches. This guy will kill any locker room he is in.
But he will get on with a new team. Just the nature of the NFL.

I hope they don't let him play all year. I'm pulling for them if they dump him. Just like the Pats did to Terry Glenn.
Go Eagles.

But, at least they admitted they made a mistake and dealt with it. Lots of teams make mistakes, but they fear admitting it.

I was happy to see TO done; good to know the Eagles have the courage to put him in his place. He signed last year, giving his commitment to a contract. If he wants to create all the havoc to further whine about not being able to get it changed then send him home. I think TO only came back to try and draw out the drama all season long about his contract and after not getting any attention for his 100th TD it was simply too much for him to handle. The reports say he was warned; I figure once TO realized TO wasn't getting the attention for his efforts and achievements all other thoughts went out the window and his brain short circuited to finding the closest and easiest way to point it out to everyone: go after the Eagles. Well TO, congrats, you pushed it too far!
I hope no one picks him up and he ends up having to completly reestablish himself in the NFL by playing some Arena ball then coming back in at base salary.

too little too late.
too little too late.
Indeed.
I hope he enjoy having contact like Ricky Williams' contact for the rest of his career. In the end, he wanted more money and his complain was the cause for all the problem and now he'll never get the big money desire ever. I find that a bit fitting for him.
If he can be happy with one year deal he'll get for the rest of his career, then he might end up in Seattle come next season. Seattle dying for a WR and since T.O's value is down to lowest point, I expect them to add him to their roster next year. Of course, the deal will be setup, so if T.O start any trouble, his butt is gone. He's not going to get multi-year deals any longer. I'll be shocked if he does.

He'll have a boatload of suitors. Dallas, Skins, Denver, any team that feels one guy can get them over the top. Jets, Oakland, etc...

i dont know. he might get some, but there are plenty of others who dont want the headache either. I'd like to see him pull that stuff on Bill Parcells. Bill would probably beat him down.
still, he wont be getting that big payday that he wants. no one will give that to him.
Well, from what I heard, people say Atlanta and Seattle. Though, I don't see why either team would want to deal with the most selfish player in all professional sports. Of course, I don't think a thing will happen until the season is over, but I doubt nobody would pick up Owens, but hey, Owens is full of surprises. He might cry he can longer obtain his multi-year contract from any team and just leave football. At best, I think all team will give him the Ricky Williams' treatment and fill his with a bunch incentives.

The only time Terrell Owens cracked a smile during a heated 13-minute news conference outside his Moorestown home yesterday was when one ambitious questioner asked his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, this: What have you done for your client besides get him kicked off the Eagles? It was a terrific question, and one Owens should be asking, because nothing has gone right for him since he fired David Joseph and hired Rosenhaus, the NFL's biggest power broker, eight months ago.
