Although the Islanders and Devils don't have the rich rivalry New Jersey shares with the Rangers, there are many common elements they share.

When the Devils were the Colorado Rockies, the Islanders dealt Bob Lorimer and Dave Cameron to the Rockies for their No. 1 draft pick in 1983 - which resulted in New York drafting Pat Lafontaine. And who could forget fomer Devils captain Kirk Muller balking at his trade to the Isles from Montreal in 1995?

Twenty-four players have suited up in Uniondale and in East Rutherford, not including Michael Rupp, who scored twice in his NHL debut for the Devs on January 13th, but never dressed for the Isles after being their top pick in 1998. MSGNetwork.com's own Chico Resch, a part of the Isles' first Stanley Cup winner in 1980, was an All-Star for New Jersey in 1984.
