Marlins catcher Charles Johnson, who sprained his left thumb three weeks, was given clearance to begin playing again but because of the time he's missed will still begin the season on the disabled list. The Marlins are hopeful of getting Johnson back into the lineup for their first home game on April 8 against the Expos. Johnson originally injured his thumb after colliding with a player while running the bases in a spring game on March 5.
