PORT CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA (TICKER) -- In his latest attempt to return to the Boston Red Sox, injury-riddled Bret Saberhagen made his second rehab start on Monday for the team's rookie level Gulf Coast squad.
The 37-year-old righthander pitched 3 2/3 innings andallowed one run and two hits. He retired the first eight batters he faced before allowing a triple and a run-scoring single. In his first rehab start on July 3, Saberhagen pitched two shutout innings, allowing one hit.
