Atlanta's Asst. GM. He had a second interview. God knows Atlanta knows what the eff they're doing, especially with drafting.

I hope this guy gets the job.

Unreal. No one wants this job. This organization is gonna be a disaster until Henry sells and him and LL are gone.

What a freakin disgrace.

I'm so freakin angry. Jesus Christ, we are goddamn fans and we get what a disaster this is. How could JH have allowed this to happen? And screw Theo too, way to throw a tantrum you friggin baby.

Datch will laugh at me, but I seriously don't see how this team can contend for the next few years, maybe beyond. No one will come here, players and GM's as long as these (insert a Babs asshat insult here) run the show. :gripe:

believe it or not I'm in your camp on this one...we need to get our shit together, and QUICK, otherwise we certainly aren't going to be able to get near the world series...I think we'll compete, but we'll have teams like the one we had this year. Playoffs one and out.

Jim Bowden or Jim Beattie? Pick your poison.

Paul DePodesta might also be interviewed, but he's not much better than Bowden or Beattie. Hell, he just might be worse.

If you haven't notice, a bunch of failure GM want to come here. No man with a good current job like Moore will come to Boston to get smear by Boston media, fan-base and mangement, then chased out of town. The Boston GM spot does not look too alluring, does it? Maybe we should apply, people off the street have a chance at this job. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v109/evangel/dozey.gif

Look like we'll be a team with a GM-by-committe. :hmm:

This team need to get their act together. It also need to stop smearing people. This is what happen when you smear. You ruin the image of the team and keep people from wanting to come here and to work for your organization. Nice job, Larry.

Hey, I know how you guys are, I might not sign on as myself so I can avoid the bombardment. I just need someone here to pass my name to the Sox.

I haven't been coming around much, but I have been paying attention. Here are some thoughts on the three key situations as I see them.

1) Theo Epstein

Ask any GM what they want and it is autonomy (or as close to it as possible). I think Theo got tired of Luccino looking over his shoulder. We have a similar situation here in Houston with Tal Smith. The question is how much authority did Theo have vs. Luccino. I think Theo was done wrong and so other big time GM candidates want to pass to move onto a team that will give them more control. Given the styles and situations I would say LePodesta might be as good a pick as any.

2) Manny Ramirez

Until we know what he is going through specifically we can't really say whether he is a dog or not. He has given the Red Sox five good seasons and has been a big part of their last three seasons of glory. Unfortunately, his situation has put the Sox in a bind, but some creativity can get them out.

3) Josh Beckett

One hell of a deal if you ask me. One of the keys will be whether Lowell can come back and be productive. If he does you might offset the loss of Manny somewhat. If Schilling can return to some reasonable health and Matt Clement can become what he was before he came to Boston you have the makings of a nice staff.
