So I go home over the long weekend on Wednesday morning and come back early this morning. When I get back I open the door and immediatly smell something pretty putrid. I'm sure my room doesn't exactly smell pleasant, but I've never gagged when I've opened the door like I did this morning. Unfortunatly, I had to let my nose guide me to where the stench was coming from. I thought there was a dead mouse somewhere, but when I opened the fridge it took me geat effort not to throw up all over the place. Turns out, my fridge died over the weekend, so with the meat I had in the freezer had plenty of time to go bad. I had to empty my fridge, open the windows (luckily it's around 50 degrees, and I've Febreezed my apartment numerous times, but the smell still's lingering. Any suggestions to help get this horrible smell away.

Tough one. Open it up and use a ton of bleach. Leave it open for some time so you dont close that smell in there.

charcoal is a good start. that will soak up some of the stench. ohhhhh about 1/3 of the amount. bleach will help too. but bleach alone wont work as well as both charcoal and bleach.

I always used opened boxes of baking soda to soak up smells in the fridge, but I don't know it that would be enough. Wash everything washable and clean the carpet.
