Five additional Phillies players, Eude Brito, Rheal Cormier, Tomas Perez, Carlos Ruiz and Robinson Tejeda, have joined in expressing their desire to play for their native countries in the upcoming tournament. Full story &raquo;

WHAT IS THE WBC?
The World Baseball Classic is an unprecedented baseball event that will feature many of the best players in the world competing for their home countries and territories for the first time ever. This tournament will give fans around the world a chance to see baseball in an exciting and compelling new format.

The 16-nation tournament will be played March 3-20 in Tokyo, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Orlando, Arizona, Anaheim, and San Diego.
