Ya. Money saving move here, and a good one in my opinion.

I agree. I did NOT want Mark Redman taking a spot in the rotation away from one of our young guys next season, and especially not at the cost of 4.5 million dollars.

Like they said in the article, this basically offsets the cost of adding Casey, which is another big upside. And the kid we got doesn't sound bad at all.
