he is one of the best prospects in all of baseball. hanley has nothing on marte. you'd do well to keep him and groom him to be Mike Schmidt.

I guess we will not see if Renteria will improve or not. I did not see this deal coming myself, but I guess it's best for the team. I do not know much on Marte at all, but I hope he's worth getting in the deal. If we don't pick a SS, then I reallly do not understand this move at all.

I like the deal, I guess. We'll see what happen in the next few days. I'm still not going for Manny being trade. We can get another SS without dealing Manny, I hope.

I can get behind this deal. I mean, I didn't mind Renteria, and I felt like last year was definately a slump which he would break out of. But if the prospect we got is really as good as y'all have been saying, then I can dig it. especially now that we dont have his contract anymore.

Rumor are the Red Sox are after Alex Gonzalez from Florida, Lugo from Tampa or Cabrera from Anaheim. I don't see the Sox going into the season with Cora being the starting SS, so we have to pick up one of these players and I do hope we bring Cabrera back. I'm totally with the rest of you. yeah i liked Coffee, but more for what he did in the past. 30 errors doesnt sit well with me, i was just hoping he'd come around. however, i'm more excited about our prospect and i really hope we keep him. the problem is just going to be finding a shortstop, and i'm on board with everyone else in saying BRING BACK THE OC!!! he was my favorite by far. hell, at this point we could even sign Nomar, since his pricetag is at an all time low and he's more serviceable than anyone else out there besides OC.
