Probably not.

But the Red Sox are interested and Roger is supposedly "pleased" about it: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2255775

Let the emotional discussion begin ..

It would be nice, but for the money he'll ask for a one year deal and also consider his old body broke down around the end of the season last year, it would be a risk. A risk I would still love the team to take since it's still Roger Clemens.

Of course, it would be nice if he finished his career where it begun.

well, they didnt offer him arbitration.

besides, he had two years with family, so if he was interested in coming back, all the power to him.

he just said he's pleased to hear there is interest. That doesnt mean there is interest in and of itself.

I honestly wouldnt be surprised if he came back to houston on May 1.

I wouldn't bet on it. He'd get killed in the AL East. Besides, I hate him.

HELL NO.

I don't hate him as much as I used to, but I still don't want him. We need to get YOUNGER, not older. Plus, Clemens was clearly breaking down near the end of last season. We don't need to spend $14 million on another gamble. I agree with Princess that he'll get pounded in the AL East, ala Randy Johnson.

Clemens is "pleased" about it because it increases his leverage with NYY.

Clemens speaks non-sense like Manny. He said he wanted to be close to his family when he first left Boston. So, he went even further north, as north as possible for MLB, by going to Toronto. It's quite clear Clemens says one thing and does another, just like our beloved Manny. :laff:

Most people would not be shocked if he came back on May 1st. Look at his age and how he declined during the second half. It would happy if he didn't have to stress pitching as much for the first month and be at full power during games in September and October. Of course, that's out the window since he want to pitch in the World Baseball Classic, even though he said he would pitch only one inning per game.

Randy Johnson took us down four times last year, you know, that was the difference from being the AL East champions and the Wild Card. Randy Johnson was not that bad last season, even though he's still a fossil. His ERA was high due to getting rocked big time during a couple of starts.
