The Sox asked for Seattle CF'er Reed for Clement. While I'd love to dump Clement, I'd like more for Clement. But if they pay his whole salary then, maybe.

Oh, and how about the Yankees offering Nomah a contract to play first. Imagine? Nomah, ADOG, and Jeter on the same team? :laff:

I think Nomar just wants a job anywhere. It doesn't matter...he'll get hurt. Damn 'roid boy.

I heard Reed is an excellent fielder, but I have not heard much about his offensive. I believe Seattle see him as their future at CF. If they want pitching, they can take Clement and most of his contact. They'll be happy with him during the first half, then he'll fall to pieces during the second half, like he usually does.

As for Nomar, he'll be playing multi-position until he's injuried. I think a hand full of MLB players are better than Giambi on the field, but Giambi said he has some type of comfort zone while playing 1B oppose to being a DH. So, Nomar would platoon 1B along with the rest of position. He be like Figgins of Anaheim if he was healthy and not injuried for once. :hmm:

When was his last injury free season? 1999?

Reed is a great fielder. I remember him running down everything in the gaps when the Yanks would play the M's. But yeah, he isn't the best hitter, but he has a some speed.

On the MLive.com Detroit Tigers Forum there has been a lot of speculation about a possible trade with the Boston Red Sox for Matt Clement. This rumor, though, has been around for almost a week now, starting even before the MLB Winter Meetings began. As was in the Blog on December 5, the Providence Journal first mentioned the Tigers as a possible landing spot for Clement, where the Red Sox to trade him.

Among the teams known to be talking to the Sox about Clement are the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers. Bronson Arroyo, too, has value, especially since he's relatively affordable in a pitching-thin market.

I heard that the M's were not as interested in Clement as they are for Arroyo...

Jeremy Reed is a fine young defensive center fielder. He has quick wrists and can hit against lefties. I also believe he could use the wall at Fenway to his advantage. I like the trade if the Red Sox could also receive Rafael Soriano.
