Why did ESPN and ABC Sports spent so much of their Christmas Day coverage talking about when will Shaq and Kobe make up? Most basketball fans can give a crap about that. i don't think anyone cares so why should the media care other than just writing a good story. If anything, it makes a great story that Shaq and Kobe are not in speaking terms so why should the media ruin a good thing hoping that they will make up. Also why does it concern the media? Who are they to tell Shaq and Kobe what to do? I get a kick out of analysts saying that Shaq and Kobe should be a better person. Those guys should just worry about themselves as people instead of others. I can care less if Shaq and Kobe never speak with each other. They are not teammates anymore so they should have nothing to do with each other. I expect Shaq and Kobe to eventually make up as they get older and wiser. It will happen just like I expect KG and Rasho to make up one day. I just don't like how the media should dictate what they do. The media really wasted their time on this.

I wonder why the media has never focused on Rasho Nesterovic's, the scrub on the Spurs, relationship with KG. Those two hated each other when Rasho was in Minnesota. Rasho left to the Spurs because he hated playing with KG and he accused KG of not being able to play with white teammates. KG and Rasho never even acknowledge each other as teammates and as opponents. IMO, KG and Rasho feud is 100x worse than Kobe and Shaq.

Yeah, I agree with you Timberwolf. It's not a big deal at all. Who does care?

No, Kobe blew it up not the media. He ordered Dr. Buss to dump Shaq and Phil for him to come back with the Lakers and Dr. Buss sided with Kobe. Maybe Dr. Buss should have told Shaq and Kobe to act like grown up man.

'Those two hated each other when Rasho was in Minnesota. Rasho left to the Spurs because he hated playing with KG and he accused KG of not being able to play with white teammates.'

heh didn't hear about that but that sounds like the whole NBA. Holding the white man back!

I never liked shaq or kobe really, but u gotta admit that shaq has an effect that only 1 other person has recently had on the game. That person being Jordan. Shaq is an asshole but you can't deny it. Somehow everyone on his teams play 20x better then they have anywhere else.....not a coincidence.

Kobe is just another Anfernee Hardaway really. Neither one of them realized they owed all their success to shaq, and were verbant self-promoters. I think Dwyane Wade gets it though.......he appreciates shaq.

Honestly I don't think anyone really likes shaq as a person, but it's hard to talk smack about him since he'll prove you wrong every time.

But it really is incredibly sad that those 2 can't act like professionals, and put it all behind them. It's on the maturity level of a 13y/o really, and phil joins in with it which is about the stupidest thing i've ever seen him do.

I had to admit I used to hate Shaq when he was in LA. I personally thought he became miserable because of Kobe. Now, he is back to being fun-loving. You can tell that Shaq is really happy just to get away from Kobe and LA. I really want to see Shaq win a championship in Miami just to spite Kobe. Plus it seems everyone on his own team and his peers in the NBA have nothing but great things to say about Shaq as a person so that says something.

I am saddenned that Shaq and Kobe never seemed to get along, but you know what. That's not common. I know people who don't like each other at their workplace. That's no different in sports. Wally and KG has had problems over the years. It happens. I hate to see it, but that's the way it goes. Sometimes, people have different personalities and characters and it just does not mesh. Shaq is more of an extrovert while Kobe is an introvert which is what the problem is all about. Kobe thinks Shaq is a threat to him which is why the nonsense began.

I still think in a few years, Shaq and Kobe will make up. At the mean time, no one cares and the media should stop feeding this type of BS and just talk about the game.

I liked the 3 hour pre game show, where they had the 2 best teams in the league playing in the background.:hmm:

But isnt it odd that its Shaq who never shuts up and acts bad..... He is the one talking Kobe has his mouth shut... Shaq had a coach REPLACED while Kobe got SUPPOSIDLY the coach he kicked out back?! Its it wierd this is the 2nd alteration SHAQ has had he did the same crap with Hardaway....

Yet Kobe gets in trouble for everything...

That pregame show was awesome.

That game at the Palace was very good. Pistons played a darn good game against the Spurs. They played on a team with a mission and they made a statement. They wanted this game. The thing I love about the Pistons is that team is hungry and you can just tell by the way they played. I wish my team had that type of attitude. Heck I wish all sports teams would have that.

I don't blame Shaq for speaking out what he did. I would do the same thing if a teammate or friend ratted me out of the police or pull a coup e' tat on me to leave. As for Stan Van Gundy, while Shaq is not a fan of his, I don't think he played a role in getting him fired. It came down to Riley wanting this job on Riley's own accord not what Shaq wants.
