That's pretty much what I have in the AFC myself

That's actually exactly what I'm thinking as well. The only one I'm debating is the Cincinatti-Denver game, because Denver is 8-0 at home, but I just really like Cincy's team this year.

I feel the need to bump this since a lot going to be answered this weekend. :wave1:

I'd add a NFC prediction if I thought anyone even cared about the NFC. :wedgie:

Lol, Bengals' defense against Plummer and the duo of Bell and Anderson. Sure, the Bengals will go into Broncos' house and beat them with lowest ranked defense of all the playoff teams this year. Again, outside the Steelers, which good team have the Bengals beat? Not trying to be negative, just realistic. I prefer the Bengals or Steelers going to Super Bowl over the other AFC teams myself, but I doubt either will.

Pittsburgh
Cincinnati

Picked Pittsburgh in pick'em, but think the Bengals can escape in a shot-out against the Steelers. If the Steelers defense completely hold the Bengals' defense in check, then this game will be no contest. I'm pretty sure the rushing game of Pittsburgh and Big Ben will expliot the weakness defensive team in the playoff this season.

Jacksonville
New England

Tom Brady? Need I go on any further?

Bengals got the Denver next round and Patriots meet the Colts the next round.

Cincinnati
Denver

Denver will rape the Bengals' defense and the Broncos' defense will keep the explosive offense of the Bengals in check.

New England
Indianapolis

Break the streak, Colts! :)

Denver
Indianapolis

Denver can't beat the Colts in the playoff at RCA Dome. Colts run all over the Broncos and go to Super Bowl. If the Patriots beat the Colts, then Denver defeat the Patriots at Denver.

That's all for my predictions. :D

'Denver will rape the Bengals' defense and the Broncos' defense will keep the explosive offense of the Bengals in check.'

If the 2nd stingiest defense in points allowed, Indianapolis, couldn't stop them from scoring 37 what makes it so obvious that the Bronco's D can? Maybe I'm missing something.

When were the Colt the Broncos? When was one game used determine that Bengals' offense can beat other team's defense? I think you're missing the obvious fact that Bengals' offense might be good, but could be stop by a good defensive team such as the Broncos and even the Steelers. There is a reason why Bengals are the under-dogs in the first round, you know?

Oh, it's not because everyone hates the Bengals, it's just looking at the facts. The Bengals' defense can be explioted, which has been by offense of the Colts. The Bengals played a weak schedule, regardless of what you think, it's simple fact the Bengals' schedule was soft, not the Broncos' schedule. The fact the Bengals have just looked horrible recently. I think I have enough reasons to think they way I do.

Sorry, but one game does not determine if your offense can over-take good defense and best them each time out. The Bengals were defeated by a very good Jaguar team, where they scored 20. In the lost to Steelers at home, they only scored 13. I could nit-pick, but in the end, an offense can be stop be a good defense.

Number 1: my predictions are'nt about picking against all the underdogs. If I wanted to do that there wouldn't have been any point to make a thread.

Number 2: I can go to any channel on ESPN and get the same info as what you typed out.

And Number 3: Let's wait and see what happens before we get so rowdy.

I just really don't want to argue. I thought my point was abvious that the bengals offense is capable of scoring on awesome defenses. Maybe not every night. But definitely capable as I obviously thought they've proven.

First off, I don't mind retroactively taking credit for the Patriots blowing out the Jags last night - I never made an official prediction, but I've been saying for weeks that whoever got the Jags in the first round was going to kill them. So I'm 1-0. :)

I think the Steelers are going to stomp the Bengals today. The Bengals are young and don't have any playoff experience. And they have no D, which is historically a killer of teams in the playoffs. I'm going to say the final score will be 27-17 (so maybe not a stomping, but a pretty good beating).

That sends the Pats to Denver, where I think they cruise...again, too much experience on the Patriots side of the ball, and even though Shanahan is a good coach, he isn't going to outcoach Belichick. There won't be any Patriots breakdown this time; Pats 34-21.

Now then...I can't objectively say that I think the Steelers are better than Indy. They're not, but I'm hopelessly optimistic, so I'm going to pick the Steelers 30-27. Hopefully they can run the ball a little, keep the Indy offense off the field, and win it late.

After that it's a rematch from last year, and again, I'm being biased and picking the Steelers based on the fact that they finally will not be at home for an AFC championship game, which can only be good. Steelers 21-17 in a slightly lower scoring affair than the other games.

Then we win the Superbowl against whoever in a blowout. What's the other conference called again?

:laff: Check out the optomism by OO.

I do agree, that facing Indy first is the best chance to beat them. It would be a riot if it ended up Pats/Steelers again after both teams were counted out weeks ago.

You think your boys can win in Foxboro? I still don't see the Pats beating Denver or Indy, but if they do, they are 5-0 in AFC Championship games . I'll take those odds.

Good Luck today slick! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, and thanks for the luck, it must have kicked in for us. :)

I think facing Indy first might work out...their starters won't have played a real game in a month, so maybe they'll be rusty. And we're on a roll. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I don't know if we could win in Foxboro, but we certainly haven't had any luck in AFC championship games at home. I was thinking they might have a little more edge going on the road, with the motivation of being the underdog, rather than the pressure of being the favorite. Besides that though, I just hope Cowher can make it to the Superbowl and win it before I have to start agreeing with the critics around here who say he can't win the big one.
