It had to happen. The Supersonics stink right now. They are not playing defense. They are not playing for each other. They are not performing. The last straw came Monday night when the Sonics not only lost to the Pacers, who did not play Jermaine O'Neal and Jamal Tinsley not to mention suspending Artest, but they got blownout in the process. That had to be it. Sonics management felt that their team could win the division so they decided to make a move before it got too late. The Sonics simply haven't played well all season and several players have regressed under Weiss's leadership. They don't play defense either. They looked pathetic last week against the TImberwolves. Notice how easily Wally and KG was getting to the hoop.

Quite frankly, I am not sure why Weiss was even hired in the first place. He wasn't that great of a head coach in his three stints in San Antonio, Atlanta, and with the Clippers. Seattle should have kept Nate McMillan, who is now coaching the Portland Trail Blazers. He did a very good job over there and for the Sonics to not to retain him was very dumb on their part. Nate did a darn good job over there. He is a darn good coach. I gotta question what Seattle was thinking.

If Seattle had their way, they would have hired Timberwolves head coach Dwane Casey to be Nate's replacement but the Timberwolves beat the Sonics to the punch. Then again if Seattle wanted Dwane, they should have given the job to him rather than wait to see if Nate was going to accept their offer to come back which was fat chance.

Speaking of Dwane, I just wonder if he has second thoughts of taking the Wolves coaching position. He is not that type of person though, but it's certainly natural to think that way. I know I would if I was him with the way things are going for the Timberwolves.

I think Bob Hill will do fine. He can't be worse than Weiss. He did a good job with the Pacers and the Spurs back then. Unfortunately, he worn out his welcome with his bosses back then. I know he wasn't well liked by Fordham boosters and fans when he was coaching at Fordham back then. I think Hill will find a way to jumpstart the Sonics and lead them to the division.

Sonics got what they deserved. They should have never listened to Ray Allen about getting Weiss. They should have kept Nate.

Its a business R you can afford to have a full year like that....

Also! LAST YEAR WAS A FLUKE YEAR FOR THE SONICS.... I will never go away from that statement

I agree, but here is the thing. He had no clue what to do. He never seemed to have answers. He just looked way over his head and management sensed that so they hired someone else. It's their prerogrative. This team was playing awful and he never held them accountable. Sonics felt that they did the best they could with Weiss so they wanted another guy. Bob Hill is pretty darn good and he is probably their best chance to turn the franchise around.

I think the Sonics have more problem than Weiss. Plus, a retread coach won't spur them on to much.
