Jeff Bagwell!

I have XM radio and today on one of the shows they were talking about the Bagwell situation... Apparently they dont want him to play because they can pick up 15 million+ on insurance for the next season... They said he cant even go to ST or they take a chance on losing that money and have to pay him... Problem is, Bags obviously feels he can still play... Whats the word over there about this? Sounds like it could be a PR nightmare...

I see both points on this but I feel bad for Bags...

What do you guys think?

The media blew this thing out of proportion. The Astros are simply exploring their options. They know full well that the insurance is going to be a long shot.

What Barzilla said, about the media (at least one of them in particular) stirring the old pot. The article in the Houston Chronicle --- The Bayou City's leading misinformation source --- was nothing short of a Richard Justice special just to fill some column inches :yadda:

Exactly! Management is now saying they just want to know what the status is on the shoulder. Bagwell is saying it's right where it should be according to the rehab. He wants to play and won't have a real read until he goes through spring training. That was the way I saw it all along. We're not going to know anything definate before the end of April. It's not out of the question however, that he may be dealt to an AL club with Houston picking up a significant portion of the contract.

Just the usual Richard Justice noise making machine.
