He's 1-1 against us now in his career. If thats not owning a team, then I dont know what is.

And he is a stud when he has NO time to throw the ball. Outstanding.

...so that he can get sacked outside of the pocket instead of inside the pocket :hmm:
Whats up with all these Manning haters? Dudes is one of the greatest QB's in our time. Yes, he cant get to the big game, but so what. Marino went down as one of the greats and he's never won a title. Trent Dilfer did, but where is he now? Im no fan of Manning, but I do respect him and his unbelieveable ability. He will get a SB ring before he retires, that is, if the Colts ever get a defense. :D

bob... I am not a Manning hater at all. I think he is a great QB, and I do believe he iwll win a SB. I posted this as a joke because of the person who said last week that Carson Palmer owns the Steelers.

first of all, I don't hate Manning. In fact, I like the guy and I think he is a great qb. But I am venting a bit in response to all of the "experts" saying he was going to torch the Steelers just like he did last time.
second, I don't think a little friendly trash talk is bad.

I know you were, but its the "others". :D I kinda feel bad for him at times. This really shows it really DOESNT matter what you did during the regular season. As much as I hate to admit it, I do believe that the Stillers are going to the SB. :gripe:

Nah good for the steelers. They beat 2 of my favorite teams, and I don't have any problem with that. I hope they do win the SB.
In fact I was kindof thinking they'd kick the colts asses anyways. I saw this coming like a month ago when they thought they could rest people. It was a stupid call. :coffee

No one should hate Manning. He's one of the best players in the league and won my fantasy league for me. He's a role model and makes some good comercials. Why was everyone against the Colts besides being a fan of the Steelers, :notme: I thought people would like Dungy to win the Superbowl essentially for his son.

Royce: I agree with you on Peyton. I don't think anyone at this board sans Patriots fans here hate Peyton. I don't even recall anyone here rooting against the Colts either.
Pats fans dont hate Manning. We basically can care less what he does against other teams. We just dont want him to succeed when he plays us. :D

I would never want a coach to win a Super Bowl because of his son. I have met Tony Dungy. Had lunch with him when i recruited him to speak at my university several years ago. IF it were not for the fact that I would want the Steelers to win, obviously, I would want Tony Dungy to win a Super Bowl for Tony Dungy.
That being said, as much as I do not blame his play, in a way, Peyton I believe did get too greedy the other day. On each of the last two plays before the field goal attempt, he had short receivers wide open. He should hav egone for the extra 15 or so yards to get closer to allow his kicker to tie the game rather than trying to be the hero.
I still don't understand why Manning was going for the win during that 2nd down play. I believe the Colts were only 2 yards away from a first down. They had plenty of time out still with 3, but they try to win instead of getting closer to field goal? I really did not understand why Manning choose to do that.
While Vanderjagt mouth out far too much for a kicker, he really had to go for 48 yard field goal with the game on the line. I don't care if you're the biggest clutch kicker or accurate kicker in the world, that is still one hard kick to make. I don't know what happen if Manning or Dungy assume Vanderjagt would have an easy time making that kick, but they honestly should have been thinking tie, not win at that point.

well, I think that's what happens when you start 13-0, and are regarded by everyone, including yourself, as the best team in the league...you think you can do anything. I think in a way Manning and the Colts thought they were invincible.

andrew: Speaking of Nate Keading, do you ever have faith in him in kicking FGs when it counts. He has missed some big FGs and that included a lot this season.

1. You can win the game.
2. Possible pass-interference.
3. 2nd down.
4. One of the best QBs in the game.
5. One of the best WRs in the game.
If he completed the pass for a touchdown, I'm sure no one would question it.

No.
Then again, I don't trust any kicker...Vanderjagt and Vinatieri both missed important field goals in the playoffs...Who can you trust?

Still I would go with Vinateri. He is one of the best kickers out there. Vanderjagt has missed a lot more than in big games.
Thing with Keading is that he missed some FGs that were easy like that playoff game last year against the Jets.

Steelers D played too good, but I was looking for a pass-interference myself.

I would have taken at least one shot at the endzone, but probably not two. After the McFadden play he should have tried to pick up some yards, instead he almost threw an interception.
I know for a fact Bill Cowher wouldn't have tried to go the endzone, and I'd be b#$%$^ing about it.

I did not think it was a pass-interference. I thought McFadden did a good job swiping that ball out of Wayne's hands.
