Carmelo should go play with Lebron in Cleveland. They're already good friends.
It would be like MJ, and Pippen all over again.
Lebron could move down to SG again, and Hughes could play PG.
Wouldn't anyone else love to see this?

That's why this thread is called 'Carmelo + Lebron'. Not 'Lebron + Carmelo'.

That would be a disaster waiting to happen. Has it ever worked out that two friends go to play with one another and truly succeed?
And then we can have Shaq join forces with Duncan in San Antonio. But why stop there, bring Kobe to Minnesota too. :hmm:
IMO, Carmelo is not better than James. Carmelo has a better TEAM than James though.

but carmelo is better in late and close situations than james, and that is more important when they are that close, skill wise. Lebron is scared to take the last shot. Carmelo isnt. and whats better is that Carmelo isnt missing them much.
Until Lebron learns that he must be the one to take the last shot, he wont reach that top rung of players. A franchise player must be willing to take it and miss. Especially when your supporting cast isnt great.

The difference of why people think Carmelo is better then Lebron is the same reason people think Tom Brady is better then Peyton Manning. I know you can understand that comparison being a pats fan.
Oh yea Peyton puts up awesome stats......yay for him.......but he chooses to be a loser at the most critical points when he needs to succeed. Brady is the polar opposite.
Same goes for Carmelo and Lebron. I could see Carmelo winning 3 championships way before Lebron does.

Bleh.....funny. Har har. :funsign

What a dumb thread, LeBron is miles ahead of Carmelo, as for late game heroics, I remember Kobe not just missing but airing some big shots in the playoffs in the last few minutes of the game in his first few years and look where he is now. LeBron is one of the most efficient players in the league. I don't remember Carmelo taking and making any huge shots any more than LeBron.
Everyone is so desperate to find the new Jordan, but then are so desperate to tear him apart when he's not perfect.

It's never going to happen. That would be like Kobe and Shaq all over. I don't see both men who wants to be the man play together as MarkPope said. That's why I could never see KG wanting to play in LA since he would share the spotlight with Kobe. He is not used to that and I doubt he wants to. I think Melo and Lebron wants to lead their own team to a championship.
BTW, it wouldn't suprise me if Melo plays for the Nets or Knicks one day. I always had that feeling the minute Denver drafted him.

Great post as usual.
I don't know if Melo is better than Lebron and vice versa. To me, they are both the same at this point of their careers.
You hit the nail in the head about how Kobe had his struggles at Lebron's age. I think people are way too spoiled to the point that if Lebron struggles, he is deemed a failure or a bust. That's absurd. He is only 20 years old. Because he looked so great in his first year, people expect more. I would love to see Lebron make game winning shots like the one against LA last week, but that's just too unrealistic. Let Lebron learn the game and such. That's the problem with this country. We are so impatient on everything and that we get dissapointed if nothing comes to satisfaction.

lebron needs to take control when it counts. he appears tentative too often in the home stretch. other than that one fault, he doesnt really have deficiencies.
He may only be 20, but he is in his 3rd year and cant be making those kind of mistakes as often as he is. As the leader in crunch time, its his job to take control, not make passes that will get broken up in traffic.
he certainly isnt a failure or a bust. anyone who thinks that is a dolt. I'm just pointing out that he needs to fix that flaw.

I know, but he will get better. It's just part of experience and all.
Kobe had his moments like that too.
I thought he would be okay, but he is still learning. He has done so well with all the hype and stuff. This is not easy for Lebron to go through. Anyone that expect Lebron to be Jordan-like, McGrady-like, or Kobe-like right now is being unrealistic.
