3 Run double by Pujols!!!! And Edmonds was already walked on four pitches!!!
.:bigsquare :birthday: :birthday: :clap1: :cooldude: :dance2:

So now there are 2 men on (1st and second) with Renteria up to bat. I heard Hampton has looked horrible this spring, there may be a pitching change here soon

Renteria doubled to score Pujols. Martinez is up for his first at-bat as a Cardinal with two men on (second and third,) two outs, and a new pitcher.... Dennys Reyes

And Tino just grounded out to third to end the inning.

6-1 Cardinals

7-8-9 hitters up for Colorado, Jose Ortiz struck out on 3 pitches. Catcher Gary Bennet is up with a 3-1 count

He walked, and Benny Agbayani pinch hits for Reyes. Depending on the pitcher, we may be able to tell if Colorado is giving up this one. We'll have to see. Agbayani has a 2-2 count

TEAM R H E
COL 1 4 0
STL 6 8 0

Full count to Agbayani, he fouled off the last pitch

After another foul ball, Agbayani strikes out looking. Juan Pierre is up

Morris gets an easy grounder to short, and Renteria opts for the out at second base. Nice inning there.

In his first game, Mike Difelice drove in the game's first run, and hit a solo home run. 7-1 Cardinals. The pitcher who came in for Reyes is "M James". Mike James formerly of the Cardinals. He was a free agent this offseason, and as a pitcher is a decent middle releiver until he was struck down with injuries for an unsuccessful year last year. When he's on he can have a 3.60 era, he needs his control. I would consider this a "just in case" move. They put in a pretty good releiver, and it is possible that that he can keep his team in the game if they make a come back.

He did pretty good though, striking out Morris, and Vina. Polanco flew out to left field, and Uribe of the rockies just struck out swinging in the time it took me to type this

Walker was walked, Helton flew out. And there is a 1-1 count to Todd Zeile.

I think that as long as LaRussa plays this game safely he can lock away a win. I hope so. That is my final observation of this game as I now have to go to baseball practice. We are practicing from 6:30-800... whats up with that???  :ohno:

As much as I still like Benny Agbayani and Todd Zeile, I am thrilled beyond comprehension that the Cardinals beat the living crap out of Mike Hampton.
