Opening Day easily.

Just the fact that it's Game 1 of the season is exciting enough. You can be optimistic for just one day and you can just forget about the season as a whole for just one day.

Plus this starts the good weather and people are always optimistic on Opening Day as human beings.

Opening Day is fantastic, and the start of Spring Training is almost equally exciting to me.

But what I look forward to more than either of those is the Monday after the gol-dang Stupor Bowl. That signals the official end to the silly Needs Full Lobotomy season and the imminent arrival of baseball. The day after the Stupor Bowl is New Year's Day to the truly obsessed and sickeningly devoted baseball fan.

To me,Opening Day-or should I say Opening night- 2006 will be the most special one for me.The memories of last season,the anticipation of being in a position that my team hasn't been in in nearly a century.That is defending a World Championship.

To me,that will be special knowing that for once,my team will be the hunted,instead of the hunter.

I think it may finally hit me when that Championship Flag is finally raised at US Cellular Field.
