Theoff-again, on-again deal between the clubs was finally completed Friday.
Rhodes becomes the Phillies' primary setup man for closer Tom Gordon. Acquiring a veteran for that role had been one of general manager Pat Gillick's offseason priorities. The acquisiton also allows Ryan Madson to officially join the starting rotation.
