.. When buying a laptop?

I'm shopping for one now, and I'm trying to decide whether to purchase one with a big screen or go for a more modest, lighter model (for traveling purposes). Of course, I don't imagine myself carrying around a laptop 24/7. I'd merely take it with me if I was looking to get some work down at a coffee shop or local library.

Does anyone own a laptop?

If so, I'd appreciate any advice or helpful tips in buying a quality one. I don't play video games on the computer ..but I'd like at least a gig of memory for quick researching/browsing purposes. Thus far, I'm looking at Sony, Toshiba, and HP.

HP has a model with a full size keyboard which goes for $999.. My mom has already bought 3 of them.

it all depends on you... If you are going to watch dvd's on it occasionally go with the larger screen, if you don't want to carry around a 10 pound lap top get the small screen, It's all personal preference. I recommend getting what you can afford and last time I checked the larger screen was the same price as the small screen because it was on discount. If you are going to be playing games and watching dvd's I highly recommend to get the True Vision screen from dell... yes it costs a ton more but mannnnn it's nice talk about great graphics! but if you aren't going to be gaming or watching dvd's then pick what you want!
