James Brown is reportedly leaving Fox's pregame show for CBS's pregame show to take over for Greg Gumble. How much is he going to get paid to leave a great pregame show like Fox's to take over that crappy show?

James Brown will do even a better job than Gumbel on the pregame show. CBS NFL pregame show is not that bad. I think Boomer, Dan, and Shannon are great. They have gotten better each year. I think James Brown will do a great job faciliating the three of them like a point guard distributing the ball to his players. Don't discount what Brown did with Terry, Howie, and Jimmy. JB did a great job working with the three of them.

This is a good deal for JB. With that said, I am sorry that he is going to leave FOX.

As for who will replace JB, I think it's going to be Patrick O'Neal. He has been the rising son for Fox Sports based on his work on Fox Sports Net. He would be a great replacement. He has a great enthauism and knowledge for sports. He used to do Minnesota Sports Tonight on FSN North and I really enjoyed his work.

James Brown made the FOX Crew tick. The reason they are the highest rated pregame show is that everyone had fun on the set. CBS, all those guys (Marion, Esiason, and especially Sharpe) think they are the top analyst.

Honestly, I think JB will probably stay. FOX will keep a hold of him to keep the crew together. Besides, no one watches CBS pregame show. FOX is just so much more humorous and entertaining. Plus, TB, Howie, and Jimmy have the insight to make everything work.

Good luck to him.

I honestly try to avoid those pregame shows.

JB won't single-handedly make CBS better. But, I'm glad he's getting more money, he deserves it.

andrew: I think people watch pregame shows just to get opinions on their teams more than anything. Plus they are entertaining.

das&kml: JB will do a great job being a buffer with Shannon, Boomer, and Dan. I thought Greg did fine, but he sure didn't seem that interested in being in the studio or being involved when the three guys got into it. That's where JB's strengths lies.

i am a huge CBS pre-game fan --- never could get into the Fox guys...not sure why...probably something about the (fake) goofiness of Bradshaw and the overbearing cockiness of Jimmy Johnson (makes me gag just thinking about him)

not sure what i think about James Brown taking over for Greg though, like Greg quite a bit...he keeps Dan, Boomer and Shannon in check when they start zinging back and forth at each other...

guess we'll just have to see how things go in the fall -- ahh, looking forward to it already...lol

I think the pregame is good for last second rosters moves (i.e. Johnson won't play).

I couldn't care less if Terry Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson, Boomer Esiason or any of them think that the Chargers are going to win or not.
