Well, there is a new set of announcers for Monday night football. Al Michaels isnt one of them. It will now be Mike Tirico, Joe Theisman and Tony Kornheiser doing the announcing.
Mike Breen will be doing ABC basketball.

It can't be worse than the current Sunday night team:thumbsup: Those three are the worst broadcasting team in the history of organized sports. Too bad Theisman is being retained:confused:

I wonder what the over-under is on how many minutes until the first time they mention Thiesman's MNF broken leg?

Those guys weren't bad at all. I enjoyed Theisman and McGuire. Mike Patrick is is a pretty darn good play-by-play guy. If you think that was a bad team, don't remind me of Dennis Miller on MNF a few years ago. That was horrible, more of a comedic gig than anything else. Dan Foutz is a good color commentator, but that's in college, not the NFL.
Tirico is not the best guy to get for MNF, but he'll do for the time being. I have no idea what compacity Kornheiser will have in the booth, he is the more insightful that anyone else ESPN could muster up.

I cant stand Korn-hole so much that it is going to be the off button for me. I still dont understand how a guy that says he dont watch sports and when he does a sports talk show he talks about olives, his dog, his son's golf gets jobs talking sports.
If the Vikings are playing the mute button will be on. But if the Vikings aint on this crap wont be on my TV......

All this does now is open the door for Al Micheals to join John Madden at NBC next fall.

I've said for years if i could put together a broadcast team, i'd start it with Tirico and Theisman. And you can't convince me that Tirico is a bad announcer.
But Kornheiser???? Does he even have any experience?

Two things that I remember about Theisman this season
1. Jim Haslet should be coach of the year. (He was serious)
2. During some Ravens game, him going on and on about how good Kyle Boller was. (Again, he was serious)
I think his brain was somehow injured when Lawrence Taylor snapped his leg.

Tony Kornheiser will bring spice to the telecasts. He may not be Howard Cosell, but he won't be Dennis Miller. Tony knows the game and he knows what he is talking about which is something Dennis never did. I like this move.
It will be fun to see Tony and Joe go at it.
Trico is okay. He does a good job with the NBA on ESPN. Good for him that he will do the PBP. I gotta say that I thought Trey Wingo would do the Monday Night Football considering he has the voice, personality, and the opinions to do it. He is great on NFL Live. He seemed like a logical fit. With that said, Mike will do fine. It was best that ESPN took Al out considering that he had a lukewarm interest of doing their games. Why hire someone who had a lukewarm interest?
It will be odd to see Al work for NBC Sports now. I always thought him being synonymous to ABC Sports. Goes to show you how TV landscape has changed.
On another note, I am glad Mike Breen will now be the main NBA play-by-play guy on ABC Sports. He is a lot better than Al in covering basketball. I got the feeling that Al never wanted to do basketball at all and he sure seemed bored doing it too. Get someone who wants to do a play-by-play instead of getting someone who treats it like a chore.

Listening to Theisman is 100 times better than listening to John Madden grunt for 3 hours about the most obvious stuff, and bringing up Brett Favre at least 30 times throughout EVERY telecast.
