In long time announcer Milo Hamilton's new book Making Airwaves:60 Years at Milo's Microphone,Hamilton has a chapter on the late Harry Caray that's-well shall we say-less than complimentary towards Harry.
He talks about the 3 years that they worked together in the Cubs' Radio and TV booth, and it wasn't pretty, according to Hamilton.
Check out the story here. (http://www.suntimes.com/output/sports/cst-spt-rap09.html)

he sounds like a bitter old goat.
i mean, we all know harry was a grouchy old curmudgeon who really wasnt as nice as some thought.
but man, harry has been dead for nearly 10 years. give it up already.

He supposedly had some less than flattering words about Larry Dierker as well. I never liked Milo and he almost ruined baseball radio for me. Of course I thought Harry Carey, actually the whole Carey clan, sucked dog balls.

people have to remember also that for many years, Harry was the half the reason why you would watch/listen to a Cubs game because they had some terrible years during his tenure. As far as Milo, he can go get bent. Ripping on a guy that's been dead 10 years is low class. He's only doing it to try to sell books because why else would you want to read his boring story.

Harru was definitely something else... Brought a lot of entertainment to the mic...
I also grew up listening to Chip, which I couldn't stand... So dry IMO.... Of course I watched him mostly when the Braves stunk so i guess that gives him an excuse...lol
I don't really have an opinion either way about Skip... He's just ok I guess.....

I know Milo has taken potshots at Harry over the years, but I did not think it was that ugly until now. I know he was promised the job when Brickhouse retired, but Harry took it away from him. To me, that should be water under the bridge long time ago. Who cares? As Steve Stone said, Milo established himself as the Astros PBP guy and he is in the Hall. Spitball hit the nail in the head. Why write a book and take shots at a man who died years ago and make money out of it? It's little childish.
