White Sox announce 2006 promotional highlights

CHICAGO -- The World Champion Chicago White Sox have announced the club's tentative 2006 promotional schedule, which features three days full of World Series celebrations to begin the season, in addition to the return of many popular promotions, including Value Dates, Dog Day, Elvis Night and fireworks nights.

One-of-a-kind events will include:

Opening Night World Series Flag Raising and Fan Celebration presented by U.S. Cellular; Sunday, April 2, 7:05 vs. Cleveland
In recognition of the 2005 World Series Championship, fans will witness an event 88 years in the making - the raising of the White Sox Championship banner over U.S. Cellular Field.
U.S. Cellular will present the first 20,000 fans with White Sox rally socks.

World Series Ring Presentation and Replica World Series Ring Giveaway from Pepsi; Tuesday, April 4, 1:05 vs. Cleveland
Fans will continue the victory celebration as they witness the World Series Ring presentation during pregame ceremonies. The first 20,000 fans to enter U.S. Cellular Field will receive a replica World Series ring from Pepsi like the ones their favorite White Sox players and coaches will receive this day.

Replica World Series Trophy Giveaway; Wednesday, April 5, 1:05 vs. Cleveland
White Sox fans will receive a replica of the South Side's most prized possession - a World Series trophy of their own. Miniature trophies will be distributed to the first 20,000 fans.

Dog Day; Friday, April 21, 7:35 vs. Minnesota
Fans can enjoy the game side-by-side with their four-legged friends on the 11th Annual Dog Day, featuring a pregame dog parade on the warning track. Dog tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance by contacting the White Sox at (312) 674-1000.

Mini Ballpark Giveaway from the Chicago Sun-Times; Sunday, April 23, 1:05 vs. Minnesota
The first 20,000 fans to enter U.S. Cellular Field will receive a mini baseball collector's ballpark from the Chicago Sun-Times. The giveaway is part of a month-long retail promotion where fans can collect mini-baseballs with White Sox player images.

Commemorative World Series Posters from Pepsi; Sunday, May 7, 1:05 vs. Kansas City
The first 20,000 fans will receive a commemorative World Series poster from Pepsi.

Latin American Night presented by Miller Lite; Saturday, June 2, 7:35 vs. Texas
Join the Sox for a night of music and dance as the club pays tribute to Latin American culture. The evening will feature pregame entertainment and dancing.

Youth Replica Home Jerseys from LaSalle Bank; Sunday, June 11, TBA vs. Cleveland
LaSalle Bank and the White Sox will give the first 10,000 children age 13 and under a youth XL replica home jersey.

Elvis Night/Fireworks presented by Miller Lite; Friday, August 11, 7:35 vs. Detroit
Elvis impersonators will entertain fans before and after the game. "The E Team," Elvises of the Sky, will deliver the American flag before the national anthem and participate in a skydiving exhibition before the postgame fireworks show presented by Miller Lite.

White Sox Go-Kart Grand Prix/Fireworks; Saturday, August 12, 6:05 vs. Detroit
Race fans and baseball fans converge on U.S. Cellular Field for an afternoon of racing. Spectators can watch racers compete in a go-kart race, and parking Lot B will be transformed into "race central" with the go-kart track, pit row, hospitality tents and interactive car displays. Racers will compete for cash and prizes.

Halfway to St. Patrick's Day and Green Caps from Miller Lite; Friday, September 8, 7:35 vs. Cleveland
Halfway to St. Patrick's Day is a celebration of Chicago's rich Irish heritage. The White Sox will wear green pinstriped uniforms and green caps. The evening's entertainment includes Irish bands, dance troupes and bagpipers throughout the ballpark. White Sox team members will wear green pinstriped uniforms and green caps created specially for the event. Miller Lite will give White Sox baseball caps to the first 20,000 fans age 21 and over.

In addition to these special events, ongoing promotions include six Motorola Value Mondays (all tickets half price); 12 Sox Pride Pepsi Tuesdays; 13 Win-A-Jersey Wednesdays presented by U.S. Cellular; five Kids Days (tickets for kids 13 and under $1 at the Box Office; kids can get autographs from Sox players before the game and run the bases afterward); 10 Dollar Dog Thursdays presented by Ball Park Franks (Ball Park Franks are just $1 throughout the ballpark); and 16 signature fireworks nights.
