It is said that he could be had for a 2nd round draft pick. Teams reported to be interested are Baltimore, Miami, Jets, and Oakland.

supposedly he & Randy Moss had been talking about him possibly coming over to Oakland. Moss was basically praising the Raiders organization and telling Culpepper that he'd like it out there as well. I could also see him ending up in Baltimore as well.

If the Dolphins got him I'd cry of happiness.

you would cry of happiness over trading for a guy who is coming off of a major knee injury and is on the trading block because he is demanding an extra $10million??

How does Gus Frerotte sound to you?
Just imagine Culpepper on the Ravens with Mason and Heap and an offensive line to protect him. Now, that would make the Ravens dangerous on the passing game for the first time ever...?

Just imagine the Dolphins with an actual starting quarterback. Their offense would be deadly except for the most impornant position being occupied by people like Griese, Rosenfels, Frerotte, Fiedler...I remembered when Ray Lucas started once. Everyone has sucked since Marino. At least get Cutler or something!

If i were the Dolphins, I would be looking to FINALLY draft a young QB... and groom him as the franchise. Isnt it about time that they do it right?

I wouldn't pay Caulpepper 2 cents to play for my team. Not worth it.

There's quite a few good QB's in the draft. The obvious ones are Cutler, Young, and Leinart. There's a couple other ones that are good too and i can't think of their names.

I doubt the Dolphins can get Cutler with their pick. They're probably going to look to add a OL and a DB instead of a QB like they always do.

Cutler is going number 2 is why. There's still another good quarterback who has a good arm, but limited experience, and I think he's supposed to drop into round 2. Miami should pick this guy up.
I think it's Brodie Croyle and just after checking I believe he's scheduled to go in the 3rd round. There's no reason Miami can't pick him up.

Why do the Dolphins always pick up washed-up Redskin QBs (Frerotte and Rosenfels)? Maybe the Dolphins would trade for Ramsey? I have no clue, but he's better than the QBs there now.

Culpepper probably has some good years in him, but I don't think he would be good for the Dolphins...they should look to the draft finally.
Culpepper would work on a team that already has veteran talent and needs a few guys, like the Ravens or the Raiders.
Of course he might be finished.

Yea I think he might be finished too. He was playing extremely mediocre this year, and why? WAS it because he wasn't throwing to Moss? It's a question he's going to have to address this next season.

He didnt have Moss most of the year two years ago and he threw great. He threw for over 4000+ yards and only 700 of them was to Moss. Moss was out for 6 games I think and 4 of them he was a non factor. Teams put there 3 best Corner on him and shut him down.
Culpepper has had great seasons when he has had a good O-Coach or QB coach. The owner didnt pay for any good coachs and when they proved they was good he didnt pay them.

sorry, shad you know where i stand on this. losing moss hurt culpepper this year. (before he REALLY hurt himself). Moss was there enough at even 2/3 speed that he freed up the other receivers. he still faced double teams at least in all the games I saw. Of course, I also thought that eventually it wouldnt be that big of a hit in the long term, but the short term loss of moss did hurt and there is no denying that.

If Moss was 50% for those games yes I could see your point. But for 2 of those games he just got in so he could keep his game steak going. He was covered by the 3rd DB most of the time when he was hurt. And a couple of those games he got about 5 or 6 plays in.

The Dolphins have held talks with the Minnesota Vikings over the past week about a possible trade involving Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper. Two sources confirmed the talks, with one saying the Vikings have approached ''a limited number of teams'' about Culpepper. No terms about a possible deal were available, however one source said the price for Culpepper will be more than the second-round pick that both The Minneapolis Star Tribune and Profootballtalk.com reported last week. The Dolphins are extremely interested in Culpepper among a short list of veterans they might take a look at. Among the others are Tennessee's Steve McNair and Washington backup Patrick Ramsey.

The Dolphins expect Minnesota to release quarterback Daunte Culpepper before the Vikings are scheduled to pay him a $6 million roster bonus on March 17.Because of that belief, the Dolphins have resisted the offer to trade for Culpepper, who also is scheduled to make $2 million in base salary for the 2006 season. The Dolphins and Vikings recently discussed a trade for Culpepper. Although no exact compensation was discussed, the Vikings are asking for more than the second-round pick that was reported this month. Despite those discussions, the Dolphins are not interested in a trade at this point.

I really don't think the Dolphins want Culpepper anymore considering Brees will become a free-agent.
