Ricky Williams could be facing a one-year suspension for reportedly violating the NFL's substance abuse policy for the fourth time.

SI.com -- Dolphins' running back Ricky Williams has again tested positive for drug use, according to the Miami Hearld, a violation that could result in a one-year suspension under the league's substance abuse policy.
The Hearld cited two sources saying that Williams tested positive for a fourth time, but neither would disclose what substance Williams used. He had tested positive for marijuana on three previous occasions.
Marijuana use was a major contributor in Williams walking away from football in 2004, just days before the start of Dolphins' training camp.
He returned to the NFL last season, and was forced to sit out the first four games and was fined four weeks pay for his second and third substance abuse violations.
The 1998 Heisman winner also tested positive in December 2003 and in the '04 offseason.
Williams rushed for 743 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games this season, ending a streak of four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
Omg Royce this has got to upset you just a wee little bit. :lmao:

This won't be a huge loss for the Phins.
I think Ronnie Brown is more than ready to set in.
As for Ricky, what a sad story, eh.

One report that I have read said that he didnt test positive for anything, but that he missed a drug test. The NFL considers it to be the same thing.

Ricky Williams' mother, Sandy, said her son is currently in India, and she has not spoken to him. She said she feels like she has spent enough time with her son to believe he no longer smokes. "I'll bet my life he's not smoking marijuana," Sandy Williams said Sunday night. "He's so particular about what he puts in his body now. I would just be shocked. I just don't believe he's smoking weed. "I'm thinking maybe it was one of his (legal) supplements for his yoga school. I really just don't believe he's smoking weed."

he should be suspended just for the fact he attends yoga school. ;)

Would you tell your mother if you were smoking pot? I doubt very highly that his mother really KNOWS what Ricky is doing.

Ricky Williams has got to be the weirdest person. How many of you would like to know him in real life?
What's he do? Smoke 5 bowls of pot and watch Scoobie Doo for 3 hours? I mean damn I can not figure this guy out.

No, from what I know from a special on ESPN a year or two ago, he's just really laid back and more or less a hippie. He loves nautre and is studying hollistic medicine in Souther California and India. He also enjoys photography and yoga; and apparently still enjoys smoking pot.
So actually, yeah I guess he is weird.

After testing positive for marijuana in three previous NFL drug tests, Dolphins running back Ricky Williams tested positive again, but this time the banned substance is not marijuana, according to sources. That was the latest bizarre twist in the player's on-going saga -- a saga that apparently is not over. Two sources said the running back, who faces a minimum one-year ban from the league, has appealed his latest positive test in hopes of continuing his career. ''I would be blown away if Ricky Williams used drugs,'' said agent Leigh Steinberg, who represents Williams. ``And that's how most of the people around him also feel.'' Even if that is true and Williams has not been using street drugs, it would not preclude him testing positive for a banned substance. The NFL has a list of nearly a dozen so-called supplements that are banned. Even too much water in a urine sample can trigger a positive test result because it can be deemed a masking agent for drugs. Williams has been in the NFL's drug treatment program, and that would not include testing for alcohol.

Ricky just doesn't want to play football. I don't think he ever has. He knew if he didn't come back last year he'd have to give the Fish a shitload of money.
Failing another drug test gets him out. I don't find him weird, I find him weak.
