Although they are pretty young and their best years are ahead of them, Mulder, Hudson, and Zito are a fantastic trio, and thanks to them Oakland has one third (roughly) of the AL's best 10 pitchers. But if they are better, wouldn't they have beaten the Yankees in the postseason last year? Does the deep Cardinals staff outdo them?
