Name your favorite superbowl of all time. You may only name a football game that you yourself saw live when it happened. So if you're 16 y/o and say your favorite was Joe Namath's win in SB III don't bother.

I think the first Super Bowl I saw was in 1989 when the Niners beat the Bengals. I enjoyed seeing the Cowboys win the Super Bowl so many times in the early nineties[especially thumping Pittsburgh], and also seeing Buffalo go there 4 times[even though nobody took them seriously].

My favorite without a doubt, and no others come close, was most definitely in 1998 during SuperBowl 32 when Green Bay played Denver. Here are my reasons why:

1.) John Elway Vs. Brett Favre - maybe the 2 greatest QB's ever.
2.) Terrell Davis mvp performance despite his migraine headache - a Jordanesque performance.
3.) John Elway's first SB win - he lost his past 4 superbowls by a combined 163-50.
4.) The AFC's first Superbowl win in 14 years.
5.) It was a huge upset. Everyone was expecting a blowout by defending champs Green Bay.
6.) Was an extremely close high-scoring game - follow this link for all info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XXXII

Why did everyone start talking about Tom Brady being a 6th round pick? Terrell Davis was a 6th round pick and he was the main reason his team won 2 superbowls, and nobody ever mentioned it while he was doing it. Tom Brady wasn't the first.

The Packers came into the game as 11 1/2-point favorites. First, Green Bay had a better regular season record than the Broncos, who entered the playoffs as a wild card team. Secondly, the Packers were the defending Super Bowl champions. Finally, NFC teams had a 13-game winning streak in the Super Bowl.

Not only do they talk about Davis being a late round pick they talk about the group of RB that the Broncos keep drafting late in the draft and making them a 1000 yard running back.

Agreed!! They DID talk about Davis. He is the reason why I have alot more repect for those who are draft late or never get drafted at all become stars. That is why Priest Holmes is my all time favorite RB.

Anyways, my favorite SB of all time was SB 36. When the Pats were 14 points underdogs. That was also the same year that aot of the Pittsburgh players bought their tickets to New Orleans before the AFC Championship game. ;)

I have two favorites. Super Bowl XX when the Bears kicked Patriot ass and finished off thier great 1985 season. The other is the classic Super Bowl XIII matchup between Pittsburgh and Dallas. A very good game made better by a Steeler victory.

Super Bowl III, and I'm plenty old enough to have seen it live :D I don't even like the Jets and was rooting for my man Johnny U and his Colts in that one. The only reason I was happy for the Jets winning was our neighbor, Bob Talamini, a former Oiler, was playing for them. The reason it's my fave is it was the first sporting event I saw on our brand new color TV that my dad bought just a few days before the game.

Oh, was it like the same ass kicking that the Steelers got from the Pats in the AFC Championship game in 2001 AND 2004?? :notme:

My favorite is Super Bowl XL for obvious reasons.

I think that the best PLAYED game was probably the 1989 game between the Giants and Bills.

As for people talking about Brady more than Davis, that isnt really the case. A HUGE deal was made at the time about Davis being a 6th rounder. There is a l;ittle bit of a difference, though. There have been many many RBs in the history of the league to be drafted in the late rounds to have great success. It is very VERY rare for a QB to be drafted that late and even ever become a starter, let alone to win a SB in his 2nd season.

The Giants-Bills game was in '91, but I would also agree that it was one of the better-played title tilts.

I've only watched one Super Bowl since then, Shawn, so that's probably why I can remember it. But another way is that it came right at the beginning of Desert Storm (Whitney Houston's singing was a big highlight for many).

I can actually start backwards and name every super bowl winner since 1972. My friend Lamm and I always amaze people with that. haha. I havent missed a SuperBowl since 1982 when i watched my first one..:) (although, I will admit, during the late 80s and early 90s i didnt pay a lot of attention to a blowout or two here and there. )

I thought the Panthers/Pats game was pretty good.

The Packers - Broncos Superbowl of a few years ago.

Most of the Superbowls since then don't even seem like real games. It's more like a giant party with an exhibition game stuck in the middle.

its gotta be superbowl 25. 20-19 game, whitney houston pre crackwhore days, a last second gasp, and all around intense game.

For obvious reason,my favorite Super Bowl was XX.

But as far as the greatest SB games that I remeber,I liked both San Francisco-Cincinnati matchups(XVI,XXIII) and the St.Louis-Tennessee nailbiter(XXXIV). I also enjoyed Tampa Bay's 1st championship after spending most of thier entire existence in futility.

Good one Babs. I forgot about that game. That would be my #2 best SB games. This one came down the an inch. Great game.

I was going to say the Rams/Titans game too; I was surprised no one had brought it up yet. What a terriffic game. All the great players played great, and it came complete with one of the best endings of all time.

Many of the games in the 90's were blowouts unfortunately. I wasn't alive for anything before 1980, so I guess I can't vote for those and will stick with the 99 game, although the Packers/Broncos game was also very great, the Panthers/Pats game was good, and the Steelers/Cowboys game was another good one, even though it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.

Superbowl XL wasn't played well, but I enjoyed the heck out of it, for, as Shawn said, obvious reasons.

I mean I've seen I guess about 18 superbowls over the years. The best 1 I saw was definitely Packers/Broncos. The worst one was probably Super Bowl XL. Both teams played crappy, and played to lose. At the end when the Steelers won, it made you scratch your head and wonder if they even deserved it.

Christ oh mighty, are you ever gonna stop? Your F@$#$#in team didn't win, alright? Get over it. The Steelers deserved to win because they WON and I didn't see any team in the AFC that didn't get blown out by them in the playoffs, including the supposed best team in the league, the Colts.

So Superbowl XL wasn't very good. Like it was the first superbowl to be played poorly. Did you have money on it or something? Does your overall happiness depend on a well-played superbowl? Or are you just bitter?

Yeah, the Steelers and Seahawks really played to lose - what a stupid comment.

No....it's called an oppinion. If you don't like it then kiss my ass. I honestly don't have any agenda other then posting my oppinion.

What did I mean by playing to lose? I meant it seemed like they were both choking. Now if you don't understand that, or don't like it then I don't want to hear it. Anyone who isn't a big steelers fan will quickly agree with me.

Sorry but i think these Steelers fans are getting a little bit ridiculous in these forums Durango. Maybe we should change the name of it from Football forums to 'Defend the Pittsburgh Steelers and suggest people have alterior motives for being anything but biased steelers fans'?

Just an idea.

You gotta be kidding. Do you see me getting into it with anyone else on here? Jacqui hates the Steelers and we get along just fine. My problem is that you have been nothing but a basher of them since you showed up, many times without any good reason, you just hate for hate's sake is what it seems like. And for your information, choking is not the same as playing to lose. You were making it sound like they didn't want to win, which is what I took exception to. Obviously, neither team played well, but that doesn't mean that the team that won didn't deserve it. I don't remember any other teams winning 3 playoff games and the Superbowl last season.

You're full of sh**. Name 1 thing I've done to bash them. In fact post it here, and lets completely change the topic of this thread just for the sweet hell of it[yea don't] The Super Bowl sucked ASS my friend. Nobody is EVER going to remember it. Bashing 1 game is not bashing your team asshole.

So I repeatedly say the superbowl sucked. Guess what? I'm never going to stop. So deal with it. And plz deal with it in a better way then coming here, and posting completely made up bs.

Do I like the Steelers? No. Do I hate the Steelers? No. Is this cleared up yet? I'm not making this up. I don't love or hate the Steelers. Now plz quit reading too much into it and making things up out of thin air. It's extremely annoying.

Sorry if that rattled your cage, but there was quite a bit of controversy in this game if you can rewind back only 2 monthes ago. EXPERTS from all over were saying calls weren't called right, and there were EXPERTS who said they were called right. HOWEVER the main constant from any of the EXPERTS was that it was an ugly game with sloppy plays, and neither team brought their A game. That was the headline..........if u argue with that then you sir need help. Why am I always playing defensive with you? WHY? Ask yourself that question
