View Full Version : Not a bad weekend for the Browns

I haven't enjoyed a offseason weekend for football in a long time. Some long time Browns fans have said they haven't seen a weekend like this since the USFL dispersal draft when the Browns landed Kevin Mack, Mike Johnson, and Gerald McNeil. Lots of big upgrades over the weekend. LeCharles Bentley is head, shoulders, stomach, and hips above Jeff Faine, Dave Zastudil is so much better than Kyle Richardson, Ted Washington might be old, but he still plugs the holes better than Jason Fisk, and Kevin Shaffer and Joe Jurevicius fill holes made by LJ Shelton and Antonio Bryant leaving. The fact that Bentley, Zastudil, and Jurevicius are hometown boys and life time Browns fans (with a lifetime hatred of the Steelers) is just icing on the cake.
Romeo and Phil have finally got this team where they need to be going.

Not too bad. They took care of 3 of their 4 major needs, a #2 reciever, a dominant nose tackle, and starting/depth on the O-Line. Now all they need are a few linebackers.

As long as Wille takes care of us on D, we'll take good care of him.

Mcginest is an old FART. He's 34 or 35?

He is 35. He still has one great year left in him. Plus, he will teach that defense.

He really will, not too many vets on the team before this offseason. Him and Ted Washington aren't Pro Bowlers any more, but they're still quality and will teach the young D how to play the right way.

What sucks is the Browns are in a very tough division. They can improve their team deeply and still miss the playoffs.
