Mar. 14 The Lions have reached a tentative agreement with Jon Kitna (QB) Cin, according to the AP. Kitna visited the Lions at their practice facility on Saturday and was reportedly "very impressed" with the organization.

I'm going to miss him. I always did think he got shafted in Cincinnati no matter how well Carson Palmer did. He deserves better because he's a great person, and great player. If they give him any bs with Joey Harrington that'll be ridiculous. The starting QB position should be his to lose starting today.

This is the best move they can make without giving up anything, outside of Brees, but I guess it's best to stay conservative and go with a 33 years career back up, than try to get one of the big 3 in the draft, Brees or Culpepper.:hmm:

you think the vikings would have traded in the division? not to mention i wouldnt touch him with a 10 foot pole this offseason. too many unanswered questions.

as for the big three, they can sign kitna and still draft a QB. ;)

I'm not saying they would of gotten Culpepper, I just wished they would of looked at other options, not just quarterbacks who are borderline starters. They're still talking with Josh McCown to back up Kitna. If they sign McCown, their not going to draft a QB, and with everything i've heard is that they're not looking at the draft for one.

But who knows, if one of the 3 drop to #9, they may still take him, it just bugs me they're not going out of their way to look for a legit starter. Drew Brees is the best free agent quarterback I can ever remember, and they really didn't even consider him. The best organizations in the league don't settle like this.

I think the Lions signing of Kitna just truly shows how much confidence they have in Harrington as their #1 QB. Not very much. I think Kitna can be an effective starter for Detroit. Though if they were serious about getting a true #1 guy, they would have made an offer to Brees. That being said, I'd take Kitna in Chicago right now.

Josh McCown
The Lions agreed to terms with Josh McCown on Thursday, according to the AP. He is expected to sign a contract on Friday. Jesus.

guys........the lions are a defensive team. Remember the Ravens, and Tampa Bays last 2 superbowls? Would you say that Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson are better then Kitna? Debatable, but I"d pick Kitna over those 2.

GD I wish you guys would stop giving Joey Harrington 2nd chances plz!! He's a whiney lil excuse-maker loser. Dump his ass imo.
