Phoenix - Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Manny Parra, who is recovering from arthroscopic shoulder surgery, was optioned to Class AA Huntsville on Monday.
The move was mostly procedural, since Parra was rehabbing at minor-league camp for more than a week. Parra, 23, pitched 16 games for Huntsville last season and was 5-6 with a 3.96 earned run average. He underwent surgery Aug.4.
The Brewers currently have 46 players in camp, including nine non-roster invitees. The roster consists of 24 pitchers, five catchers, nine infielders and eight outfielders.
