Tonight is the night. Lots of trade talk going around but nothing completed yet. I offered Chen, Wang, and E.Santana around but no one bit.

I did trade Giambi $22 for Orvella $5

So here is where I'm at: all players need 20 games to qualify at a positon
Shelton $5
A. Rod $46
Iguchi $1
Guillen $9
Polanco $5
Crawford $13

F.Hernandez $5
Bedard $6
D. Cabrara $1
Garland $5
Escobar $8
Orvella $5
Wickman $8

That's 13@$117

The questions are whether to add Vlad $47, or Boone $8 to the list. If I add Vlad, I'm at 14@$164

Thoughts?

Vlad will get you more than Aaron Boone regardless of the cost. Question is, are you winning to pay that much?

Vlad went for $50 in 2004. Obviously, he went for $47 last year. I don't know that he will go for any less, considering inflation on stars in this league - and the fact that several owners will have a boatload of money.

I've pretty much ruled Boone out. I don't want to be tied up at 1B/3B/Cor (providing I end up moving Shelton to 1B). There is some decent talent available there.

Thanks for the response

AL 4x4

I went in with the least amount of money - largely because of my decision to keep Vlad at $47. Studs traditionally go for big money. The players in Caps were my keepers.

Buck1
Johjima 18
SHELTON 5
A-ROD 46
Glaus 19
POLANCO 5
Berroa 2
IGUCHI 1
CRAWFORD 13
VLAD 47
Sanders 12
Bradley 10
E.Brown 1
Everett 1

ESCOBAR 8
BEDARD 6
D.CABRERA 1
GARLAND 5
WICKMAN 8
ORVELLA 5
F.HERNANDEZ 5
Johnson 26
Burgos 1

Reserves
Loaiza

The auction came out hard and fast on pitching. Halladay 30, Buehrle 31, Schilling 32, Beckett 22, T. Jones 22, Guardado 29, Foulke 24, Zito 21, Ray 18 - I actually got Johnson between Halladay and Buehrle.

The auction was sparse of stud hitters, Manny, A-Rod, Vlad, and all the 1B guys kept. Ichiro 35, Thome 32, Sheff 31, Huff 28, Wells 25

I bought Johnson and Glaus right after the initial rushes on top pitchers and power - then basically sat out for a long time other than some price enforcement.

Johjima was my last postion player - Burgos my last pitcher.

Okay, that's the lay of the land.

Thoughts?
