The Brewers assigned lefty Zach Jackson and right-hander Carlos Villaneuva to minor-league camp on Sunday. Jackson, 22, pitched in four games this spring and was 2-1 with a 9.00 ERA. His last two outings - both against San Diego - were rocky but he impressed enough to earn a ticket to Class AAA Nashville. Before he was sent down, Jackson said he would work on his "slurve" (combination slider-curve), which he did not show in big-league camp.
Jackson was acquired from Toronto on Dec. 8, 2005, as the player to be named along with Bush and outfielder Gabe Gross in exchange for infielder Lyle Overbay and a player to be named (Ty Taubenheim).
Villaneuva, 22, was acquired from the Giants two years ago.
