I almost want to say "here we go again" even though it is only the second game. Santos and Vogelsong were terrible. Vogelsong didn't pitch well all spring and there had been rumblings that he might not keep his job. Our pen was supposed to be a strong point. Well, it is ealry, but with our past it is easy to get pessimistic right off the bat.

I'm not worried about the bullpen yet, we have some good guys in there, but they might want to consider the possibility that Santos isn't going to be able to get it done and bring up Burnett or somebody before too long.
As for Vogelsong, I wouldn't show too much patience with him if I were them, he's been around a while now and still is just too inconsistent IMO.

0-4! While it may not be panic time, thye had better get a win soon. What is bugging me is that it seems to be the same old Bucco'sm so far.

And now it's 0-6. We can only hope it's a repeat of 1974. The silver lining I guess is that they are scoring runs. The pitching needs to catch up. And quick!

I didn't think they played all that poorly in the Dodgers series, even though they did get routed in the first and last games.
They are hitting very well, I think, they just can't get ANY pitching. It's the starters or the relievers or both. I think they will eventually come around just because of all the talent (the bullpen will probably come around sooner, they're the more experienced group) but by then we may have no chance to finish .500 or better this season...we might already be out of the running, but I'd like to think that they can get a winning streak going and pull within range soon.
