Mats gets wrung up on a pitch a mile off the plate with the bases loaded, 2-outs, down by one in the bottom of the ninth.

MATS SAW FIVE BALLS IN THAT AT BAT WTF :bonehead

That said, it shoulda never come down to that. Bad game and I am pissed. So many missed opportunities and another crappy start. Longer post later after I vent by shopping

I didn't see it. I left after the 6th.

Wang pitched very well from the stretch. But when he was not pitching from the stretch he was throwing balls and leaving stuff out over the plate. It's like he doesn't trust his D when runners are on. I just don't understand it. Guidry needs to work with him on pitching out of the stretch.

wait a second. i think you are screwed up. When he is in the stretch (or out of the stretch as its commonly referred to), runners are on base. Unless you are a reliever, you dont pitch from the stretch ever, unless you are bizarre since its more taxing.

I really dont understand what you are talking about since its not making any kind of baseball sense.

I think he's talkiing about the 3rd inning, when Wang couldn't find he's control he eventrually switched to a full wind up .... he did get control this way... and got Melvin Mora to hit a soft grounder... the problem? it was base loaded and full count, by the time Mora hit the ball 2 guys the second base runner was already rounding 3rd.... and Mora's hit was .. TOO soft... that he beat out Jeter's throw (partially thx to the ump.. again..)

Wang had some control issue but also a bit of bad luck in this one... a few infield singles and blooper singles... he got hit hard only once... but that control.. ack, weird he was looking like Cy young pitcher for 4 inning and then can't find the strike zone in 2 other....

The Yanks neeed to start winning those close once... Wang has to take some blame for this loss but stranding 2 base loaded is just bad..... it's not like the O's were killing the ball and making great defense plays either...

There wasn't one strike to Matsui in that at-bat. Total BS. A-Rod should go learn how to hit when it matters.

I'm pretty sure relievers always pitch out of the stretch. Most at least.

Look at the first two strikes , too. They're both balls too, I bet you.

:( At least we responded well.

I really don't understand how umpires can call that a strike. It's like it's their watching the whole time and watch the cather pull it over yet they still call it a strike. They do it on the low ones and inside ones too. It's really pathetic.

Thats understandable. But it seems like umpires screw up more then any human on the face of the earth. So basically i'm saying thats a terrible excuse.

it's not an excuse...it's fact. And the only reason why it seems umpires do it more is because fans like us are constantly watching their every move.

whatcha gonna do?
