Jeromy Burnitz Shines for Mets

The New York Mets defeated Atlanta 9-3 Friday night and outfielder and new Met Jeromy Burnitz went 2-4 with one homerun and four runs driven in. Mo Vaughn went 1-5 with one run scored and Roberto Almomar who is struggling with his new team went 0-5. Mets have a lot of power in their lineup now. I think Burnitz will shines some nights and Big Mo others.

Burnitz is off to a very good start. He has something like 2 homeruns and 5 RBI while hitting above .300. If he can stay above .300, it will be a big boost. He's never been a .300 hitter. That will really improve Alfonzo's protection. Even though Burnitz hits 30 homers, Alfonzo still may be pitched around because Burnitz K's a lot and hits around .260.
