This Cub outfielder called Swish, and who gave him his nickname?

Bill Nicholson is the player who's nickname was "Swish" but i have no idea who gave it to him...

I also know why he was called "Swish" but have no idea who pinned the name on him. Must have been either a teammate or writer.
In the '60's the White Sox had a player named Dave Nicholson who was also nicknamed "Swish". Dude struck out at an incredible rate but when he connected he ball was gone. He had a funny stance. A right-handed hitter, when at bat he almost appeared to look at the pitcher from under his left arm.:eek:

Give the man a cigar, I don't remember when Brooklyn fan's gave
him the nickname, but I do remember him in the batters box, swinging his bat in between pitch's, and we kid's yelling, swish, swish, it was great fun. I''l bet you know who gave Stan Musial, his nickname, " The Man", he was a real nice guy and even though he killed us at Ebbets Field, we never booed him, besides " The Man", we also called him Stan Musical.
