The Rockies have had a great start of the season. All you have to do is look at the NL West and see who is in first place. But now it is time to prove it. It is time to prove they are and will be a top dog in this season. The Rockies have have some of the top teams in the NL coming up that they are going to get tested with. They started with the Braves who beat the Rockies in the past two games and now tonight they got a game with the Reds then the Astros followed by the Cubs.

Here is a chance to play some good teams prove they belong and get a stand on where they are in the NL.

After losing two very tough games to the Braves which game one they lost but Jason Jennings pitched a great game just ran into a pitcher that pitched an outstanding game with a one hitter vs the Rockies. Second game was something we havnt seen much of this year and the pen blowing the game after Aaron Cook got the lead in the 7th.
Tonight so far they have a solid lead vs the Reds.

And lets not forget this also. Todd Helton is out, Clint Barmes is out for a few games, Fuentes out for a couple of games , Eli Marrero out for a bit after doing a great job filling in for Helton. If this is the bump in the road then lets get over it quick and build off it.

Clint Barmes expected to miss a pair of games while he attends the funeral of his cousin, and closer Brian Fuentes missing a couple of weekend games while he and his wife attend to a personal matter that manager Clint Hurdle characterizes as "a very happy time for them."

The Rockies have already seen 10 players go on the disabled list since Spring Training, and three others have missed time to short-term illness. Yet here there are, enjoying the first week of May in first-place, thanks to an organization-wide depth chart that hasn't missed a beat in filling everything from the a spot in the rotation to Todd Helton's spot at first.

Conversations at first base tend to be brief, a few words in passing with no detail. Todd Helton nonetheless has detected a pattern in those short utterances, telling compliments that make it apparent the National League has taken notice of the Colorado Rockies.

Enough opponents have stopped by and made a point of mentioning to Helton about the Rockies' start.

"Even guys (who) get on first base have said, 'You're playing the game really good,' " Helton said. "We just need to keep playing the way we're playing."

And the Rockies keep it going with getting some runs and hitting the ball all around the new digs of the Cards!!!!!!!
