Why won't the team just get him a W??? He's the pitcher with the best talent on our staff, and yet he get screwed every time. Any thoughts on this?

well, its not the team's fault the first 5 games he had pitched. he pitched terribly in april and the first start of may. yesterday was maybe his first very good game.

ironic that when the team was playing solid baseball a few weeks back, his pitching was shaky at best. Last night he pitches great and we can't hit a lick! Typical Cubs bad luck!

I believed he pitched 6-7 innings against Florida with 12 K's. If that's not a good start I don't know what is. The Cubs can't hit at all lately, scoring 1 run in the last 4 games, all of which they have lost. Now we face Peavy tonight. We'll probably score 6 off of him.:)

eh, it was a decent start. still gave up 3 runs in 7 innings. (quality start, but certainly not his A game) he actually pitched a bit better for the most part than i expected when i looked at his game log for the season. he had a good game against the dodgers, but he went only 6 innings.
part of Carlos's problem is that he throws so many pitches in some innings that he has to be pulled after 6. In april, he had 25 BB with his 38 K's. thats just unacceptable. a starters WHIP shouldnt be over 1.67, thats for sure. especially for an ace.
I think he'll be fine, though. and in august we'll be laughing about it when he has rattled off another 15 good starts.

God, I hope so. He's hands down my favorite player in the majors. It seems he just tries to throw everything right by the batter. He just needs to take a few days off(not a start, though) and relax, get his thoughts together, and retool his gameplan. The Cubs need all the pitching they can get.

Carlos tries to pull the Cubs out of the slump tonight. He can certainly use his first win now.

well, he got his first win last night. Cubs end their losing streak at 8 games with an 8-1 win.
He went 8 innings, striking out 6 but he walked FIVE. seems like after the first four innings he totally settled down as he didnt walk anyone after the 5th inning.
