in the first inning, while diving to make a catch he bent his wrist backwards and broke it. He needs surgery and will be out for a significant period of time. not good, considering sheffield is already down.

Yeah,
I saw the broken wrist play too. It looked like a pretty basic slide until the very last second when it turned nasty. Tough role for the Yanks. Looks like the rookie Cabrera and Bubba will be starting for a while (along with Bernie).

now you know how I feel MW. it looked pretty much the same as Derrek Lee's injury. and frankly, may be even worse even.

Ugh...that was horrible to watch. God damn that looked painful. His hand was just sort of dangling off his wrist. :ugh: Of course, the good folks at NESN showed it about a dozen times in super slow motion. :no:

F*cking sucks. Having Sheffield out was hurting us enough. And now Matsui will be out too. :(

It sucks that he's going to be out for so long. I hope Sheff is able to come off the DL soon.

I can't believe he actually made the play on that ball too! he still went after it and threw it back. that musta been painful!
