I saw on sportcenter that he may be out alot longer. He pitched in a rehab start and had bad pain in his elbow. They are doing further tests to see what is happening. My dad has taken the news hard as he is a big yankee fan.

Yes, I just saw on ESPN news he is to have surgury to remove the bone chip and will be out for awhile again. They need to cut their ties and admit they don't know what they are doing when it comes to pitching.

It wasn't from his raising me right. He tries to convert me all the time. The last time he tried telling me he doesn't understand how somebody can call themselves americans and not love the yankees.

Thats why I traded him in The Show. :lmao:

Maybe the Yankees should have traded him this offseason when teams offer to take him? :laff:

lol, I think we should get the fact that medicore pitchers are going to get these ridiculous 10 plus million a year(s) contract for now on. Boston didn't get stellar pitching in Clement in 04-05. I can't wait for the next bust of 06-07. It look like Burnett, as expected, leading the class for buster of 05-06 winter. :)

That offseason gets progressively worse when you think about it

Johnson.....Wright........Pavano.................. .......................Womack

I think the most obvious "WTF" signing was Wright. Yankees, Sox and any fan of any team were like "WTF" when the Yankees signed him to such an absurd amount of money. Sadly, he's looking the best of those four you mention at the moment, milky.

Pavano was overrated anyway, he had one good year for my fish in one of the better pitchers park with an excellent defense. It sucks to see him constantly on the DL, for the money they spent the Yanks should at least get a 30 start season from him.

Yeah because money automatically makes you play good.

Just like Beltre. Got to love players coming up for free agency having a big year before they become a free agent, then return to their normal level of playing level. Beltre and many more are prime examples of such thing. :laff:

I buy into the walk-year theory. Although of the 05 signings we've really only been burned by Pavano's walk-year extraordinaire, since Wright's resurgence was probably more Mazzone than anything else, Randy's had a career full of great seasons, and Womack had always sucked. I think the Yanks should be leery of the numbers Mussina puts up this year, because this is his walk year too......

Funny though, all four from the crop from 05 had burned the Yanks in playoffs past. Coincidence?

Wright has actually been showing us some pretty good signs. He mainly just needs to work on his pitch count, IMO.

And, I really hope Mussina isn't going to fall onto that list. Because we all know how much Mussina means to our team. Nonetheless his career numbers are very solid. Plus he's my favorite pitcher.

*BUMP*

Any new word yet? My Yank fan buddy tells me the Yankees hate him. They don't consider him a teammate, and that Torre has no use for him.

Any news?

:Wow: I had not heard problems with Pavano in the clubhouse before. That's interesting. I am curious too, is he just sitting on the DL, is he doing any rehab, is there some sort of timeline for the expected comeback? :notme:

Beltre, I think hasn't done well in the AL after having played in the NL for so long. He can't handle the breaking ball. I think it's easier for pitchers like Wright to have a lousy first season switching leagues and then start to turn it around after a full season. Although in Wright's case he was in the AL to begin with, but I think he did learn a lot from Mazzone. That's why I think he will turn it around and be a better pitcher. I always liked the kid.

Cashman said he expects him back before the end of the season...

Other than that, I have no idea what's going on with him.

i just think pavano is a sissy. at some point you just have to go out and pitch.

If he were a horse, (like P&W) he would be shot as well.

I never agreed with the signing of him in the first place.

You try and pitch with a f'd up shoulder and see how it feels.

at some point, you just have to go out and pitch. All pitchers have to pitch in pain. from everything i have heard in the media, many feel that he just isnt a competitor.

It's hard to get mad at a player for being injured, but Pavano annoys me. Anyone who misses games due to a pulled butt muscle annoys me.

Sorry, in theory I guess you might be right, but if your shoulder is hurt, there's no way around it, you can't pitch. It's not like a position player playing around a broken bone in their foot (Damon), a pitcher can't pitch hurt, it'll only lead to worse things.

From what I see there aren't any problems. They've been showing him in the dugout a bunch of times on YES laughing and fooling around with the rest of the team.

understandable, its just that some of the things that are cropping up over the past two years with pavano make your eyebrows raise a notch or two. (i.e. strained buttocks)

its like that with Prior now.

Lmao...I see how you can say that being a Cubs fan with Prior and Wood and all their injuries, it's frustrating.

Not to mention Pavano had ONE good year, then all of the money spent on him. To see him on the sidelines watching the Yanks pick up Sidney "Twinkie" Ponson. Yuck. I think Pavano has had his legit problems in NY, but their are player in MLB who will be "sissies" about being hurt and could play through it, even pitchers. Of course, I'm an expert because I'm a 26 college student in FL who doesn't even play softball.

PEACE
Brett

PS HA!! At least we had Pavano for his good year!! Just mesin' with ya.
