Wow, we shoulda swept.

Los Tigres are next. Let's see how they do when they're not playing the Twins/Royals every other game.

Yeah, every MLB should sweep the Royals when they play them.

The one win the Royals did have was also blown. It's miracle they even won on Friday.

Anyway, very interesting series coming up for the Yankees. I want to see how good these Tigers are. I want to know if they're pretenders or contenders. After the Yankees, they also get the Sox right after that.

with the pitching they are showing, I think they will win the series against the yanks. The chicago series will be fun to watch as they can match them pitcher for pitcher and have some backups

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing how good the Cats are too. They get youse then us. Significantly tougher line-ups than they have been used too.

It's Bonderman v.s Johnson in the first game of the Yankee and Tiger series.

Which Johnson do you think they are going to face. The old man or the stud that he can be.

I really think he'll do good today. Comerica is a big park and it's the HR ball that kills him, even though the Tigers lead the league in HRs...

Well took the first two using Random Johson and Magic Small, with Moose and Wang comming up I'd think the Yankee chances of at least taking 3 is good.

Tigers are good, but they aren't THIS good, their current projection is well over 100 wins, no way, they are 90ish win club at best. their offense don't walk, their pitching are getting lucky (good BABIP and LOB%) , they will end up with front of the pack pitching (but not leading the second best team by half a run) and back towards middle of the pack in offense. 90 win or so, plus or minus, has a shot at the wild card maybe, but that's about it.

They got almost all their wins from trouncing struggling teams (like the As and Indians) or purely bad teams (Royals and Mariners)

As for the Royal series, it's about what we expected, the Royals came in hitting rock bottom, they are bound to rebound a bit sooner or later (speaking of which, they won two strait against the A's... ouch)

My dad and his father like the Tigers as well as the Yankees but they are bigger Tiger fans. And at the begining of this series I said to my dad "The Tigers are really gonna be tested. They're a good team and VERY improved but they aren't ready to play with the Yanks, and both Sox yet. And the Tigers haven't really played anybody yet."

By what you guys have said so far you have backed up my statements. As the Yankees have as well with their play. But what I'm saying is I thought I was the only one who thought these things because the whole media jumped on the Tigers bandwagon. While I'm thinking "Yes, the Tigers are playing very well and a much improved team, but who have they played? Here's who they've played the Royals, Twins, A's(who are struggling), Texas, Chicago(who swept them), the Angels(who are also struggling), Mariners, Cleveland(who are struggling as well)"

Can anybody else think of anybody they've also played?

I would like to end my post with;

I think the Tigers will place 3rd this year behind Chicago and Cleveland and be in the wild card race next year. This team is just to young and not ready quite yet, IMHO.

I heard they were 4-5 vs. teams over .500 before the Yankees series.

Tigers should feel real lucky Mo couldn't pitch or they might have been swept.

I don't really care if they beat struggling teams. If you beat a hot Royal team, nobody would really make an issue out of that, but if you beat a struggling Yankee or Indian team, then people take notice. Funny how that works out, eh? Regardless, Tigers got second rate Yankee team and still manage one win. Sox are coming in next. If they get swept or lose the series, I wonder what people will think about them then?

I'm wondering the same thing.
